Re: SPAIN 2019
Quick thoughts of the ten songs in Spain:
"Hoy Sonare" Sabela
Very classic Eurovision-ballad, but not even close in the quality of Quedate Conmigo or Dancing In The Rain. Too old-fashioned and slow to work.
"Hoy Vuelvo A Reir Otra Vez" Noelia
Also rather old-fashioned Eurovision ballad, but slightly more interesting instrumentally. Still not a song for Spain in Eurovision, I think they need to go uptempo this time.
"La Clave" Natalia
I like melody in this song, but it feels like it takes too long for the song to start...I would have lost interest before the lyrics comes.
"La Venda" Miki
Not my kind of music, but can see this work decently in Eurovision. It has a modern latin appeal that quite many can enjoy. But nothing I would vote for though.
"Muérdeme" Maria
When I listened to the short clips, this was among the most promising ones, but I don't know, these new mysterious verses isn't working for me. I think Spain should go for happiness to do go...not a song people will constantly read as "Murder Me..."...
"Nadie Se Salva" Miki & Natalia
I really like the verses here, but the chorus is non-excistent. I know these kind of music is modern, but still, we have to remember something from the song..especially an instrumental chorus with no hook at all.
"No Puedo Mas" Famous
This is the first change from the clip that has turned better. Slightly more modern than earlier, even if I still find it very generic. But I could totally see Famous win it on his star quality, even if that wouldn't be enough in Tel Aviv.
"Que Queires Que Haga?" Julia
Julias voice fits very well to this song. Feels very spanish in a good way, at least a short step towards the grand ballads of the 2010s from the country. If they want to send a ballad, this might be the one then, if preformed well live.
"Se Te Nota" Carlos Right
This song just passes by like nothing....I have nothing to say lol. Boring rip off of Bieber.
"Todo Bien" Marelia
I like the feeling this song wants to give me, pretty happy and old school Spain, but still modern to feel a little retro. But doesn't have a strong impact to work on the Eurovision stage though.
Well I did think earlier that Spain were going for an another disaster...well now I think they can avoid last place if they go with Miki or Julia. But any of the other songs, well then Spain should be in the bottom 3 once again....and maybe they need to bring back the swedes again, cause this ain't working...
