Re: SPAIN 2019

Wow, another underwhelming NF from Spain. Maria's song is the best, however she's not a good live singer at all (explains why she didn't make it to the final). I foretell another bottom 5 placing for Spain. What a shame, RTVE should hang their heads in shame! 🇪🇸

I did not see this, but I heard the songs on the YouTube account of OperaciĂłn Triunfo,Won the singer I liked less :? .... I really enjoyed Natalia, she had a powerful voice.

Songs I liked

"NEVER ENOUGH" | NATALIA
"TRIS TRAS" | SABELA
"CRAZY" | NATALIA

Re: SPAIN 2019

I went through the snippets three times and my favorite is Damion (in short: enrique meets jala brat minus the autotune) how awesome is that? xcheer

Famous has Cesar Sampson written all over it.. I like it as well. I hope it wins over some overly romantic youknowwhat:mrgreen:
And if you want to try a female latino pop song then Marilia is the best optionxheat

:12:Damion "Sale"
:10:Famous "No puedo más"
:8:Marilia "Todo bien"

edit: adding Maria on the list

:8:María "Muérdeme"

Re: SPAIN 2019

After a second listening, I still think there isn't any song good enough, but at least I have a top 7:

1. Muérdeme. Good: imo it stands out compared to the others and I liked it from first listening. Bad: María isn't a good live singer + it requires a great staging or choreography and a decent choir, which is asking too much for TVE (<--- this will apply to EVERY song, but I think this one needs it more).
2. La venda. Good: it brings good vibes. Bad: many people don't like rumba, and Miki didn't outstand for his live singing.
3. Todo bien. Good: I always liked her voice and I think this song suits her very well, and I like the latin vibes. Bad: I didn't understand the structure and melody of the song at first listen, it's confusing.
4. La clave. Good: it's modern and cool, Natalia can sing... Bad: the lyrics are too bad for my taste, and the only thing that I actually like is the chorus.
5. Se te nota. Good: it's nice, it's a song I would usually listen to. Bad: I don't like when he says 'una vaina loca' because we don't say that here in Spain, it's an expression from Latin America. The chorus is not catchy enough, I expected more from this song.
6. Nunca fui. Good: I like the style of the chorus. Bad: it just doesn't stand out, we've heard many songs like this.
7. Sale. Good: the verses are catchy and I like his voice. Bad: boring chorus, and he's not comfortable when he sings in Spanish, we saw it in the contest.

'Hoy soñaré' is not bad either, it's nice, but I'm tired of ballads and such... XD

15. Alba Reche - ¿Qué será luego? 3/10
16. Marta - Vuelve 2/10
17. Damion - Sale 2/10

In this NF there are some Songs, who can really grown on me.
I love the snippet from Miki & Natalia, i would love to see them in Tel Aviv. My second placer Sabela is also amazing, would be also great spanish entry, but my predict is that Famous will fly to Tel Aviv, it's a great Song, too. All of them will be the best spanish entry since a while for me. xup

Why is Sabella trying to go to Eurovision with "Woman Like Me" by Little Mix?

Re: SPAIN 2019

Knowing Spain, they will submit "El Equilibrio" by Miki, will hype it to death, see a victory in the making and end up being #25 in the end.

Their only chance to not end up bottom 5 is either to send María's "Muérdeme" or Damien's "Sale" or maybe "Se Te Nota" by Carlos Right, in my opinion.

Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
Re: SPAIN 2019

Alba Reche, whom finished second, told Alex Jimenez that, in her case, "I like the song and it's really good, but I don't know if I see myself in [Eurovision]. Although I'd be very content in going...We know that [Famous] is excited to go. I support him more, because for me, it would be an honor that someone racialized, with the roots that Famous has in a country like Spain, would represent us. It would be something that would go beyond the music and would signify something more socially."

The same strategy, that of promoting Famous, is what other contestants have followed suit, like Maria, whom maybe without realizing, has turned into the most voted in RTVE of the candidates with her proposed song Muerdeme. Some of her followers, included, have openly asked on Twitter not to vote for her.

Natalia, whom ended up in third place, also told Alex Jimenez that going to Eurovision, "wasn't my main focus in entering [Operacion Triunfo], and moreso Famous is more excited about going. Then, all of us should also support him so that he'll go."

Alba was one of the more critical voices: "[ESC] is very good as an opportunity, and maybe, it's because of other reasons that, in my case, don't have to do with the music. If it was going to be in Amsterdam...is all that I have to say."

Natalia considered that maybe if the festival wasn't going to be held in [Israel], the attitude of all of them would be "more open."

Besides Famous, there's also another contestant that has been seen very active on social media looking for support to advance to the gala that will designate the representative. At the moment, Noelia has already gotten Hoy vuelvo a reir otra vez to fight against the top three of the voting, that will go to the final directly.

Re: SPAIN 2019

This Spain section is complicated. All songs go from middle to nowhere … most of them are not exactly bad, but they lack of that "something". To judge from the snippets, the best are for me:

Marta: Vuelve
Sabela: Hoy sonare
Noelia: Hoy vuelvo a reir otra vez
Alba: Qué será luego
Carlos Right: Nunca fui
Julia: Qué quieres que haga

But here again, I'd like to wait until I can listen to the full songs! :)

Re: SPAIN 2019

I'm really tired of these 'social justice warriors'. If we have to hear all the time these stupid hypersensitive millennials, I hope OT disappears for good.

Last year it was not clear if the Spanish candidate for Eurovision would come from OT when the show started. It was announced later. Ok, in this case I understood that some of them didn't want to go to Eurovision.

This time, however, it was known way before it started. And we've known since May that the next ESC would be in Israel. I just don't accept that these people that have benefited from the promotion of OT say now that they don't like the idea of holding ESC in Israel and that they rather not go to Eurovision. Are you kidding me? It's very simple: if you didn't like it, don't take part in OT either. I never take part in contests or raffles where one of the conditions is taking pictures of me and spread them as promotion, so following this logic, if you don't want to go to Eurovision, just don't go to the contest where our candidate is chosen! oOX

Edit: and I'm sorry for Famous because the only reason he was in OT was to go to Eurovision, but the song they've given to him is just too bland. I hope he has another -and better- chance next year, as it's been confirmed there won't be OT.

Well said... it's such hypocrisy to take part in a selection, where the price ultimately is going to represent one's country in a contest hosted in Israel, and then say you don't want to go because of it being in Israel.... well duh... you know what you signed up for right!? I hope the clause is clear and the winner simply will be forced to go there per contract or pay a fine to the broadcaster... anything else would be ridiculous because then people can just use this platform for self-promotion without caring about its purpose and end-goal. Sure, get that promo while you're in it, but also respect the purpose!

The same with those broadcasters that initially said they might drop out because the contest is to be held in Israel... well they also know what they sign up for entering ESC and as long as Israel is in the game... there will always be a chance of them winning and thus hosting so if you can't play the game... don't take part at all.

Re: SPAIN 2019

Are you sure the participants' main concern is that Israel is about to host the contest next year and that they are not interested in representing their country in Israel?

Maybe they just realized that the material they got to sing is simply "underwhelming"? :D
