What happened last night was totally undeserved. There are no excuses this time. Miki and the Spanish delegation did a good job.

Given this, Big 5 should obviously disappear.

I'm so sad for Miki. Maybe the staging or the running order deceived him, we'll never know, but I do think he deserved better than #22. He had so much energy on stage, it was a good closing performance.

I thought this deserved a lot better and felt sad for Miki. I actually really liked the staging (it was charming) but I can see what people are saying about it. Viewers were probably quite fatigued by the end of the night, and going right after the ride that was Australia probably didn't help matters too. Fun entry though, and I'm usually not into this kind of stuff. Miki just has so much energy though that it's hard not to smile and get into it with him.

Based on Spanish poor results?
Italy was second, Germany fourth last year...

Let's admit it, Spain just failed to stand out and I absolutely understand it, the staging didn't help, I never saw a blindfold falling, never saw anything that would help me to understand the message but a group of housemates confused by a giant puppet that looked cheap... Miki dressed as if he were going to a funeral holding a camera God knows why... the Spanish vibe of the song totally forgotten, that flamenco bit could have been used by the choreography but instead they just let it sound with no presentation, by times Miki was just standing on the stage as if he were waiting for the next step, very stiff... honestly, it was a mess! Too bad Spain got it wrong for a song that was actually easy to stage.

The staging has made me think of Moldova's from last year. Anyhow, I don't know what Spain must do to stop ending up in last places. :(

Sorry, what I mean is that Spain should leave the Big 5. But I don't think there should be a Big 5, anyway. That's true.

You're giving yourself great reasons to do so.

"God knows why... the "Spanish vibe" of the song totally forgotten, that flamenco bit couod have been used by the choreography..."

So Spain is able to take part in the competition only if they bring an extremely stereotyped song. What does "Spanish vibe" exactly means? Do all Spanish people love Flamenco, sangría and paella? It was the entry of last night less Spanish because there was nothing of it in the song?

Let's be honest. Spain have never been taken seriously in the last decades of the contest and it will never be.

Of course, the fault for this is the painful work of the Spanish delegation itself for years.

MIKI is FREAKING ROBBED! He is so energetic and charismatic as a performer. The staging is not ideal, but it shouldn't have affected his performance.
Spain just can't catch a break. They all out this time, got a great song/performer, with the most elaborated staging ever and got only #22?
I just can't. The juries killed Spain for no reason. #justiceformiki #justiceforspain

Miki had way better song than luca. He didn't deserve this. Why are UK, Germany and Spain always among last almost every year. Maybe the staging was just too much for some people. Too much colorful, too much distracting and on top of that giant manequin.

With it last in the running order I wonder if the organisers expected it to do much better. This, Belarus and Greece (more for the semi performance) the best dance songs of the year.

I never said Spain can only offer stereotyped bits, but La Venda had it on it, but instead of taking advantage of that it was absolutely left apart. That flamenco guitar minisolo and "lo que ere ere ere" is a remarkable Spanish bit, whoever listen to it won't think "oh this is a Finnish sound" xshrug

No. La Venda has nothing of Flamenco on it. It had "Rumba catalana" instead, which is slightly different.

I expect the lyrics are better than most of the songs too, but with Eurovision not bothering doing subtitling still...

ok rumba catalana then, my point is that it is a distinguished Spanish bit.

Yeah, your point is that you're agreeing with me. We need to take advantage of the image the rest of the world have of us if we want to take some extra points.

Thanks.

If I wouldn't want to understand you I wouldn't quote you from the beginning.

Instead of mocking and giving up just try one more time.

But, hey, the problem is mine of course.
