The jury put her so low because they wanted to counter the televote which they knew would give her big points

Portuguese jury did what many other juries did to countries that had high diaspora in them

They didn't vote based on the song they voted based on the ethnic background of the people in their country

Not true. Portuguese jury has never done this, at least to us. They have the right to do it. I wouldn't rank this song much higher btw...

What it's obvious is Ruth must be so thankful because she was REALLY lucky this year. I mean, she got a very poor televoting result despite she had an awesome draw. However, she was meant to rock the jury vote and she was only 11th. Finally, she was 10th with the 50-50, over anything
She was so lucky, but she could've perfectly been 17th, 18th or 19th if some countries hadn't been so bipolar in their votings to benefit the songs in the middle like the Spanish one.
We had to be lucky at least one anyway

BTW "Que me quiten lo bailao" got much more televotes than Pastora Soler or Ruth Lorenzo. We should learn about that ;)

My prediction came true :D I am pretty sure "Mas" would have done much worse, it would have been around 16th-17th place in the final.

Unfortunately we will never know... :(

But I'm pretty sure "Más" -with a good performance- was top-5 material, or even top-3, cause I think it's stronger song than "Undo". But Spanish fans prefered to impose their diva...

televoters are not tending to vote for :es: with any song so top5.... I don't know what should send Spain to ESC to get top5

Televoters were never tending to vote for Austria or The Netherlands and they are top-2!

But yeah, I know what you're talking about. It's true there is a historical clear tendency to ignore Spain no matter what we send, especially for Nordic and Eastern countries. But even that can be broken, I'm sure

The live performance on the final has been the only one I liked from her. Stunning!

The song itself probably (that one would have also been one of my faves this year if it won), but I am a bit skeptical how it would have done. Though, as you said, we will never know.....

It would be nice if she returns next year with, at least, a similar song and wins the ticket for Austria :D

Ruth Lorenzo's been to a Spanish show this week. One of the things she talked about was the dress change during the last days, and the controversy it caused. She explained that the previous dress function did not turn out the way she expected, so she decided to search for another one on the Internet. She bumped into the dress she wore by chance, but unfortunately she had to give it back to the shop. During the interview, the dress appeared from the top of the set suddenly. It was a magical moment.
After that she sang an accoustic version of Dancing in the Rain whilst playing the guitar. She also told that she would like to return to the contest in 2017.
Here you are the performance:

Yeah, she's too Lucky if you ask me. I mean, you got your two best results in recent years with Titanic-type of ballads and it's very sad imo. I felt like you were selling your soul for a place in the top 10.

I know Spain is not a country everyone vote for year after year, but you have great artists (Pastora and Ruth included), the thing is that you should be more daring when picking songs.
10th place this year was far too much for "Dancing in the Rain", what kind of song is that? It was just meant to show Ruth's vocal abilities, nothing more.
And English? bitch please! You've got an amazing language that is musically pleasing to the ear, so keep on using it.

I never was a hardcore Brequetter. I didn't really care for her before the NF and I don't right now. I just wanted the best song to represent my country, no matter the singer.
