I was under impression that our commentator was rooting for Spain xshrug

I am very sad we didn't give any pts to Spain. it was probably the biggest favorite on our sites, among people (and the commentator )
such a shame :(

If Spain came only 10th with THIS song, then of course, something is very very wrong! If this song was sent by somebody else, it would be in top 3 for sure!

Now I think that these countries are hopeless in ESC: Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta, Switzerland, San Marino, Austria, UK, Belarus, Netherlands, Bulgaria... :(

pls, spain not getting higher was not a diaspora-issue. it was a song-issue. the song is fine, but its way too conservative for europe 2012. Before 1990 it would have won, but now....

I wouldn't have UK in this list, since they seem to not care about Eurovision. Why would they send crap to Eurovision, when they could do so much better?

But you forgot Montenegro, Slovakia and Poland

Pastora was so impressing last night! Definitely deserved more than 10th place! It was my first favorite in the end!

For the same reason Gerly and AlekS already said, apparently in France (according to my French friend) they said the same thing: Pastora asked not to vote for her country, because Spain can't afford it. They misunderstood Pastora and I don't think Spain would have much trouble to organize it. Anyway it didn't affect the voting much I think, we still gave a 6. It should have been higher though.

They didn't say a thing about this when it was time for Greece!! On Dutch television they said "Let's look at the Greek entry, sponsored by our taxes"! I had to laugh !

I must say I feel a bit gutted this entry didn't end higher. I really expected this to end at the #2 position, behind Sweden.

But then, as I was watching Pastora, I also felt that it was all just too stiff and too classic. I didn't like her wavy ballroom dress, and her hair in a bun looked Victorian. The act was just too typical Eurovision. The way she was looking during the rehearsals in a more casual-looking dress and her hair in a tail would've been better, I think.

Another reason I see for not ending higher is what I previously wrote when this entry was announced: the composition is too much of a stereotypical ballad, where you know that near the end there will be a climax with lots of belting. It sounds too perfectly composed, the composition is almost too cold and clinical, so to say. I'm not sure if Eurovision viewers want that anymore. I think that played a role too.

But still I would've much prefered to see this switch places with the Russian grannies at no.2.

Spain ignored? C'mon!

The song was a bit stiff and not very modern. So don't complain!

Eurovision is moving forward.... so tenth place is pretty flattering

Our song was pure class and emotion and you are just looking for slight reasons to despise us...again.
Be honest and tell the truth. Spain didn´t win nor was higher because it is Spain and it´s never gonna get anything in this contest. So many Spanish love ESC (you just have to look at the audience rates, even when we have had sooo many years in a row of almost noughts-probably deserved some of them-I´m not saying they didn´t), but we kept here , we went on hoping there would be a better time when Europeans would utterly grant us some credit.
Well, we could easily see yesterday that that is impossible to happen, we have no neighbours and even "Euphoria" wouldn´t have taken us out of the tenth place.
I honestly believe we should drop this, it is pointless to me now.
And for those who think your country also got bad rankings, think about the times you had them good. There must be some.Spain never passed 119 points and that was 17 years ago and I think it is miserable. If any Portuguese answers this, you must know I am with you as well, so many Portuguese songs have been demised over the years.
So, yes, admit it, you just don´t like Spain but we don´t know why.
Still when the partying time comes we will welcome you the same as we do with everybody.
