On my first listen I put it as a 7, will upgrade it to a :8:. I don't know if I'm just disappointed in the other entries of if this one truly grew on me. Solid is how I would describe it. It has elements I love in music in general, it's uptempo enough to not bore me. However, it lacks an impressive factor.

impressive factor.
Musically, Carpe Diem is a really solid song, especially since the rest of the countries really don't stand out. And you're right, what's missing is the "impressive factor". A lot can be done here, cause only an energetic charismatic performance will not be enough. I remember that few second "eclipse" (fake technical problems) when Lea Sirk performed in 2018, she get in the final just because of that smart idea, otherwise I'm sure she would have stayed in the qualifications. The right idea is everything.

10 pts from me. It's begging for a revamp, though. Make the chorus stand out a little. Change the key. It's a bit too flat for me now.

Are you ever going to engage with this forum outside of self promotion? The frontpage of the escunited site has a brand new Joker Out interview that Connor did , I am sure yours is good but why use a forum just to promote yourself and nothing else

not so impressed from that song - no real rock (as promised before) - no real pop.
at the moment only a :4: but maybe 2-3 points more after the semi?
the song is momently #1 in the esc-ranking game thread and this is for me a big surprise.

^Well, they did it again, remained on top. (y)

Reading about the hosts in Liverpool, it got me thinking - if Slovenia in not too distant future manages to win the competition, who do you think would be the Slovene hosts?
My first picks would be Mojca Mavec and Tomaž Mihelič (Marlenna from Sestre).

Mojca is great. One of my fave Slovenian personalities - her broad knowledge (she speaks French, Spanish, German, English, Portuguese and Croatian perfectly) and elegance ooze out of her. Don't know if she's really the type to do it tho.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Klemen Slakonja.

Doubt we'll win in the near future tho :/

True. A heavy bass, more disco like, modern 70s would be awesome. Like Purple Disco Machine. I don’t think it’s too flat, not for my taste at least - I love the Brit pop vibe - but make it stand out more. I so want this to qualify but I really can’t say how its chances are.

I love Joker Out - and I have a gentlemen's agreement with @EscGeek. Should Ikke win Germany's NF next week, I will de-flag myself and take a Slovenian flag and ESCGeek a German flag, riiiiiiiiight? I hope it won't happen though. But embarassment knows no limit.

There's zero embarrassment in taking a Slovene flag, ever.

I am genuinely surprised that I actually don't mind this song at all? Enjoyed the retro sound it has going on. Seems like a continuation of their last year's entry. Giving a :5: as it's decent.

For a few days Australia was my No. 1, but I simply love "Carpe diem" and it is on my first spot again. Thank you for such a fantastic song, Slovenia! xheartxheartxheart
