To me, they're like two people who wanted more exposure on home soil, but instead - through a chain of circumstances - ended up getting caught in the Eurovision whirlwind. But I may be wrong.
So basically like this:
To me, they're like two people who wanted more exposure on home soil, but instead - through a chain of circumstances - ended up getting caught in the Eurovision whirlwind. But I may be wrong.
Most pointless act in the competition. If they only want their music to be heard by masses, the only way for them is to do Eurovision. Because truth be told, nobody really cares about any Slovenian artists globally. And they must be stupid to think that they can do Eurovision by achieving their objective without having the pressure that comes with it. Sounds lazy as shit to be honest. I seriously hope they get boycotted. The other 7 eliminated acts would have loved to take their place. Their attitude (together with Hatari's) irks me so much.
I do respect and get your point, but there may be another explanation.
In Slovenia, there apparently aren't many musical shows and EMA is known for being the most suitable platform for artists to showcase themselves at national level before a big audience. And I wouldn't be surprised if it were Zalasper's intent when they applied to EMA.
They said countless times they thought they had zero chances of winning the NF, and their weird reaction when it actually happened makes sense in this regard.

I disliked the song but honestly the performance was really cute! Well done Slovenia!
תודה רבה מתוק! = Thanks, sweetie
Cheers
The whole reason why they are in Tel Aviv is because they wanted to show themselves to Slovenians and promote their work on the Slovenian market, not world-wide. They were sure they wouldn't win. But since you have to sign a contract that you will go through till the end if you win the preselection, they could get penalized for refusing to go to Tel Aviv. So, since they are young and not rich, they probably had to go and they never said they were sorry for doing it. In any case, you are making wrong conclusions and ergo fake news
Dear crashworld, I see that you consider ESC first and foremost as a competition that should be taken very seriously. Well, unlike you, I don't share your position. In fact, I actually relate much more to Gašper's and Zala's stance who honestly believe that you can't rank music and give it points. And while you diss them and Sobral and question their status of "artists" cuz they don't believe in the ESC as a competition, I will say that I respect your opinion and still love you. Why? Cuz I honestly don't care about points and victories - yeah, it's a fun-side of the ESC, but for me ESC was always a door to discover new languages, music of different countries and nations, and meet people. Come on, I met some really fun and crazy people here. Two in particular - one from Serbia and one from France. They know who they are and they know I love and respect them a lot. So, feel free to diss Zala and Gašper, but while you do that, I prefer to spread some love here. Have a great day.
The idea that ESC deserves any respect is just hilarious. It's like saying that American Idol deserves respect for being the most popular show on US TV in the 2000s. ESC is a joke in the music industry, that's a fact, so it's no surprise to me that the few acts who are bringing something real and musically interesting to the show, and not just the usual guilty pleasure ESC trash, aren't fans of the show.
If the contest doesn't deserve any respect regarding to some of you here, journalists who love doing their job and do care about the contest, if it's deserved or not, DO actually deserve respect. Giving an answer like that on a question of anyone is straight up rude and unnecessary
Didn't like the song, didn't like the performance and now I'm not really too fond of them either. Probably deserved qualification but I'd have preferred if, if it went to someone else
lol, the hack "journalists" who attend music or any kind of entertainment related events deserve even less respect than ESC. I have watched/attended many Q&As and press conferences in my life, and the questions are almost always staggeringly awful and boring at these events. It's actually refreshing to hear that somebody had the courage to tell them that they suck at their job.
