Re: SLOVENIA 2019

wiwibloggs reports that Sebi won with a total of 73%! This is my second surprise! I didn't think the outcome would be that clear. Poor Raiven, she can't even say that it was close.

The winning song is something someone would listen to, to chill not really on Eurovision

The Eurovision sound is swiftly evolving. You have songs like Gabbani's and Mahmood's winning a show like SanRemo. Portugal won in 2017 (both in general and with the song that they sent). "Sebi" can do well precisely because it is "chill."

Iirc it was 4.6k votes to 1.7k (or sth around that)

Wow, what a beautiful song and performance! Mesmerizing, simple and filled with quality. I have absolutely no idea how it will do in ESC, but I do like it quite a lot! Slovenias best song in ESC in quite some time I believe for me! :D

Sebi could come top 10. Not sure it can do a Common Linnets like some other people have I've talked to have said but it could do very well.

I am super-disappointed right now, but will listen closely to the winner song again, then vote in the poll.

This song is nice for marijuana lounge. 5 points. I was hoping until the end it would take off but suddenly it ended.

Re: SLOVENIA 2019

Thank you xrunhug

I am super happy for Zala & Gasper. I like "Sebi" a lot and think they could set a nice atmosphere in Tel Aviv.

Yet I'm really astounded Raiven lost eventually. Either she has no fanbase in Slovenia or the GP is off-put by her somehow. To be honest, I thought she could have done great with "KAOS" and the total package she had.

Out of the five national selections I've followed, none of my number 1 acts won this season. Wow.

I'm still giving 12 points to the winners because to me this song is quality and I'll root for them come May. I don't know about their chances though, we'll see. :) Aw, I feel weird now, I'm both happy and sad. We Raiven fans won't see our dream come true.

Oh, tuorem, I just love you. I do. You are probably a Slovene like moi, yet you are not aware of it. You should definitively have to move here xhugxrunhug

As for the winners - I looooooove the song, I think Slovenia made the right choice tonight, and anyone reading Slovenian forums, could see this coming from miles away. From comments on the forums, my impression was that Raiven appears too desperate and a bit too "pushy". She should have waited for another year or two.

Moreover, I must admit that I was sure that INMATE would go to the finals. I was actually quite positively surprised by their act and the song was decent. On the other hand, good luck to Zala and Gašper - as some of people here know, I was rooting for them since we got the snipets. Good luck in Tel Aviv. x12s

That ethereal staging they had will look so good on a big stage. Zala's voice is so otherwordly and they're so cute together. xheart
I wish they could be rewarded for their effort, because they did earn their victory tonight imo.

The Slovenian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, EMA 2019, is now over. The winner, which will represent Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv in May 2019 is Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl – “Sebi”.

I watched EMA 2019 on my laptop from the UK. Personally I'm surprised this got to the Super Final, because I thought the female singer's voice wasn't strong enough, and thus the song would have no impact in Tel Aviv this coming May. I haven't seen the original lyrics, or an English translation, so I've no idea what the song is about, but perhaps it's meant to be sung softly. Anyway, despite what I thought of the song during the original run of the 10 entries, by the time of the Super Final I wanted Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl – “Sebi” to win, as I really hated the other Super Finalist Raiven – “Kaos”.

Only time will tell how Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl – “Sebi” do in the Eurovison Song Contest. Slovenia will be performing in the first half of the first semi-final, on Tuesday 14 May, 2019, so I won't be able to vote for it that night as the UK votes in the second semi-final.

Tuoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeem, have just checked the performance..

Isn't it way too minimalistic, she didn't have a basic make up, I think

I'm confused right now, they were lost in that dark on the stage..

How they will be lost then in Tel Aviv GRAND stage.. :?

Seriously tuorem? Hahaha, of course, I voted for them. I never vote, but this time I made an exception. I agree with your assessment in general. Good staging could elevate this song on big stage to new levels. And we need better sound!!!!!

Lea Sirk congratuled them in the end and she said literally: Wear white in Tel Aviv and don't wear any make-up like this time.

As a result, yeah, I assume that Zala was completely without makeup.

Anyway, they came back with this shitty system of selection. Why show us 10 songs, if the jury will select 2 of them anyway, so 80% of what we hear is basically unimportant to the viewers. Last year’s system will points was better, but they probably did it low budget.
