Anja Kotar has a nice voice and sounds more like my cup of tea. Tip Top reminds me too much of Ukraine's entry in 2014. Can't say 100% I'm blown away, but this year Slovenia seems to have some decent songs, it's not necessarily a waste.

I have the feeling that both M I H A I from Romania and Nusa got stuck in their individual Eurovision years. Their songs sound like they would have been good years ago, but not now ...

The only song that caught my interest from this snippet is "Črno bel". Has that "Love injected" vibe to it.
But honestly, this is quite underwhelming and disappointing selection.
I mean....its not that last year´s selection was any better, but last year we had Maraaya who saved the day and made us forget about all the other competition.

Well, I wouldn't be so categorical because we all know that every EMA lineup for a few years now is meant to be a promotional event for the local market. And I'm certain the two finalists are already known, otherwise juries wouldn't pick songs before viewers can even pick up their phones to vote. So there's no need for EMA to have a kickass lineup, as long as there is one good song. I mean the broadcaster surely has a favourite act, the rest is just "free" promotion for artists whose song wouldn't fit the contest.
That's not my way of thinking, but I assume that's how it works.

Well, maybe its wrong for me to judge immediately, but from last year´s snippets, when Maraaya showed up in recap, I m pretty sure that something like 90% of people (including me) immediately said: "Yes, this is the one". And I am guessing that Maraaya was the broadcaster´s favorite.
What about this year´s broadcaster favorite? Nuša (for being a veteran)? With Žan as a second superfinalist (lot of girls voting)? But, I guess I´ll rather wait for full songs before giving any further judgement.

I just meant that it is "normal" that the lineup does not look strong, for the reasons mentioned above. As CatEye said, there's nothing instant for now, so we'll have to listen to the full songs to judge the quality of the acts who'd be likely to win. Snippets may not do favor to some songs I try to remain optimistic.

Last year both Maraaya and Rudi were their favorites. All of Rudi's acomplisments came from things organized by RTVSLO, they have been trying desperely for years to make him happen and push him constantly down the viewers' throat. And it was beyond cringeworthy that his crappy song was chosen for the superfinal, no sane jury member would ever go for something like that and at ESC it would be a clear bottom 2 place.
