She did alright live, certainly better than some other acts that year that made it to the finals... what effed up the performance was the messy back-ground singer... sure Kristina gave an insecure feeling about her but vocally it wasn't that bad... but that's just a proof that ESC today has nothing to do with songs, only big wailers make it regardless if their songs are pure sh*t while true masterpiece songs like "Horehronie" didn't because they didn't have a big wailer doing the song (and a big wailer would destroy a song like that anyways)... there's just room for one type of vocals in ESC nowadays :/

C'mon Slovakia! You have excellent music industry for such a small country. Show it to the whole world!
Anyway, I still want joint Czech-Slovak national final. It would be amazing. We have so many common Czech-Slovak TV projects, why not do that for Eurovision as well?
It worked for Idol, a declining TV show, which the new Czech-Slovak aspect helped to revive. I think it would work amazingly for Eurovision as well.
Speaking of Czechoslovak Idol, the new season starts today and 3 of the 4 judges have something to do with Eurovision (Marta Jandová - obvious, Ondřej Soukup - producer of this year's CZ entry, Klára Vytisková - participant in CZ 2008 NF).
Winner of Idol representing Slovakia in Eurovision wouldn't be bad as well - lots of people are hating on Idol, saying they are all karaoke singers, but don't realize most of these have had bands for years before Idol. Plus it worked quite well for Sweden, didn't it?

OMG, my heart skipped a beat when I saw new posts in the Slovakian thread
Even though I doubt they can qualify without selling out, I'd be super happy to see them come back.
Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary... Central Europe should join forces to save us all and bring Eurovision there!

We hadn't a whole Visegrad Group present on Eurovision since 2009Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary... Central Europe should join forces to save us all and bring Eurovision there!

Seriously, you're capable of winning imo. Hungary got close in 2014, I'm sure their time will come soon. As for Poland, TVP should think out of the box and aim at quality to improve your results, so you can do it too since your music scene is rich. Czechs must try again, "Hope Never Dies" was a great surprise, so they're not hopeless (underrated maybe). Slovakia needs to come back and stick to its interesting local music scene, no more American wannabe please.

Now their reason isn't up-to-date so in case of non-participation they will have to come up with another explanation for their decision
