If ebu banns Georgia what will happen then?
Turkey doesnt want to come back,
Russia wants to make their own Russia-vision,
Israel will not be there because of their broadcaster,
so how many countries will be next year?
We need as many as posible.

I think EBU should give Georgia a warning and if they [Georgia] don't stick to the rules next year, then Ebu should ban them. Or at least Ebu should have an eye on Georgia. If it's the tolerance we're talking about, Georgia should have another chance. What if it was Germany's or Sweden's jury to vote like those from Georgia? Would EBU ban them?

Well, if all of these happen, the format will fit more with the title of Eurovision Song Contest.

How about kicking out the whole eastern and southern europe so it will be a Western European contest, which obviously would make you happy.

Eastern Europe = Europe.
Western Europe = Europe.
Southern Europe = Europe.

I am talking about countries that are located mostly in (Western) Asia. It's obvious you're butthurt, but your comment doesn't even make sense because it won't make me happy at all. Try to interpret my post a little bit better next time, ok?

You're forgetting the fact that this contest is for the countries within the European Broadcasting Area, or the Council of Europe. Plus, those countries located mostly on Asia have more in common with the countries in Eastern or Southern Europe than Western Europe has with them. Your narrow-minded definition of Europe doesn't much make sense.

Also I'm not the butthurt one here. Given that you're attacking countries that have been participating in this contest for decades...

I stressed the "Euro" part of "Eurovision", with which I meant "Europe" as in the most commonly used continental meaning. I'm absolutely not narrow-minded nor have you the right to say that to me.

I'm actually not attacking or insulting any countries. I don't think it's an attack to call a country 'non-Europe' when they actually are non-Europe. (And I'm clearly not talking about European Broadcasting Union, because I know they are part of it and therefore they may take part.). I never said they should leave, I only said it would fit more with the title if they would leave. I don't care at all if they participate or not, because they all can send wonderful songs and sometimes even more wonderful than Western-European countries. And that's what the contest is about. About songs!

But I think we shouldn't go offtopic anymore at all. This thread is about Georgia's ban anyways... :)

If they ban Georgia, they should ban Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus and Montenegro too. Their jury votes were also 99% same, only very small differences.

I think that we even have to encourage Georgia for their atittude - the first country, which overcomes the slavery of juries. They were on a 100% televote and isn't that what many people want? :D

Is THAT your idea of tolerance??? Oh, you played a foul game, but never mind, we'll do nothing about it?
I'm against hard sanctions, I don't want Georgia to be stigmatized or something, but SOME consequence has to follow.
And talking of a second chance. A chance to do what? Cheating successfully without being caught?
"give me a second chance" is something that applies if you tried something and didn't achieve it and you want to try again., so....

Like i said in another thread, i don't find it that strange that 5 people brought together watched the contest together and talked to decide a common outcome on what they saw.

EBU should just tell them they shouldn't do that next year. I mean, come on. If they wanted to cheat they can all but Norway at 2,3,1,5,4 and no one could really accused them of any wrongdoing. It would be stupid for them to cheat by ranking all the countries the same and expect EBU not to notice, nobody is that stupid .

Now the thing is i really would love to know what was the ranking. If it is Malta, Iceland, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Romania, Ukraine, UK no problem but i suspect if might not be that

I think if there is any punishment let it be something like in the football leagues. What I mean is that Georgia to start with -12 points (for example) in the next edition of the contest. If the voting irregularities continue even after the first measures and warnings, then a country should be excluded.

But wouldn't you then punish the artist for something he/she wasn't even slightly involved in? that seems unfair to me cause they could be close to a winning and that be prevented...

With excluding a country from Eurovision for the same reason you basically do the same - punish the future artists from the country, which have nothing to do with that. Footballers also are not quilty for dangers, caused by their fans, but it's the football club which is responsible at the end. The same with Eurovision - artists are not guilty for anything, but the broadcaster should take care of procedures and if that's not the case - there should be sanctions.
So I don't think that there is something wrong with excluding some points as first sanction.

Georgia might be banned?

According to escunited, Georiga might get a ban in the Eurovision (not permanent but still).
What do you think is going to happen? Express your thoughts.

I don't think Georgia is going to get banned, but I hope EBU is going to ban those jury members permanently, it's not the broadcasters fault (or is it?)
I also think EBU should have looked closer at the jury votes from Azerbaijan, Belarus and Montenegro which looks really fishy.

Despite Georgia being the best by far Caucus country in ESC (every entry except Waterfall xheart), yes, I think they should be banned as the EBU have made a point of saying they will ban cheats and they have to stick to this.

by saying tolerance I mean the fact that if it was Germany or Sweden (or another big country), it would probaby end with a warning... thus Georgia deserves to have another chance and if the juries cheat next year, EBU should ban them. Now EBU should punish Georgia by imposing a fine on them.

I´m pretty sure that EBU would take actions even if it was Ireland, Sweden, UK or France who had cheated.

Can tell that the big football clubs in Europe are not being safe from these kind of actions, FC Barcelona (one of the best clubs in Europe) has been forbidden to buy new players this summer because of breaking the transfer rules.

But to be OT, EBU wrote very well that any kind of cheating starting from this year would get punished, so it´s very likely that Georgia will get suspended sadly
