^^ I also hope about that

Btw, a famous singer in :rs: Darko Radovanovic got killed in a car crash last night :( I considered him as a good ESC option as well :( May he rest in peace.

Ova mala treba da nas predstavi...trenutno je u grupi Vidi Vidi

Powerful voice waisted on nasal screaming. She would be awesome for 'Zikina Sarenica', but not for ESC (which is mainly pop). She seems obsessed with 'tradition'. How unnecessarily:roll:

How NECESSARY!! In a world getting more and more globalized and especially ESC being eaten up by (dated) American sounds and English only this is exactly what we need!

Soon sounds like these will be gone (and in ESC it is already almost extinct) and people will wonder what happened to cultures and traditions, ESC was a platform (up until re-introduction of juries) where we could actually still enjoy some traditional sounds.

But offcourse a more modern approach would be good, but still with ethnic motives and Serbia were always best when sending just that.

^Serbia used to send commercial ethnic motives, not this. Zeljko J., Milan S. were commercial, unlike this girl. Pure traditional music like this would end up last in the ESC, it would be ridiculed over forums and nobody outside Balkan rural areas would understand it. There r other festivals where such music is better appreciated...like Slavianski Bazar.
Culture and tradition won't disappear. If it's not Eurovision, there r other festivals who celebrate culture and tradition.

I didn't mean it had to be like this girl, I meant that it would be nice if Serbia send something with ethnic motives again. This girl could be okay if you can combine modern with traditional, remember Bulgaria's "Voda" from 2007? Now that would be very possible with this girl's style!

Eurovision is not just pop, Eurovision is for everything and Eurovision was always a way to celebrate Eurovision diversity and is a great platform to keep this alive, eventually it will disappear if it won't be kept alive.

Biljana is not always like this too. She was just singing this old music for the show because she is in traditional music school in her hometown. But actually she can sing many different types!!!

Re: SERBIA 2012

I like Biljana and the linked song she does perform. Anyway, these days EBU responsibles try to change ESC to another Pop idol show so this one actually might be 'overqualified', unfortunately.
What about two different Eurovision shows? One with real European and Asian (,probably North African) music like this (no matter if pure traditional, contemporary/chart-friendly or mixed – all is welcome as long as it is native) and the other where they can promote their Disney ballads and archaic U.S. stuff? I absolutely see A-lister's point.

I don't believe in two Eurovisions really, I just hope something will be done so that the EURO in EUROvision will once again play an important part in the contest.

Eurovision is not a pop or disney ballad contest, I believe though in diversity, but right now there's no room for anything European which is really sad.
