It's an..... interesting choice but I also have my quite high doubts that this is going to be for me. From what I've heard of them in the past, they're just too annoying in a really obnoxious way, and that's not my thing.
This means though that all the LOL we're so kooky stuff is going to cancel each other out. If I was a gambling man right now I'd be looking at Romania, Bulgaria or even *gasps* UK.
How beneficial or not it would be to Romania, Bulgeria, the UK or any other track fits into that musical bracket I feel ultimately depends on if Iceland, Lithuania and Russia make it to the final and to a degree where they land in the running order.
As I said in my review for Iceland that they and Lithuania and now (most likely) Russia's entries are very indie, and possibly very niche. And there is a strong possibility that the public at large just might not 'get' the acts. The closet we had to this last year was Lake Malawi there was only one of them so they were able to get more of a bounce in points from the judges as a result. This year, the more acts like this there are, the less of a share of the Judge's points are going to reach them.
I don't think that this will mean doom for any of them or victory for any of the more 'conventional' acts but it just means that everyone is going to have to bring their A game now in terms of performance, vocals and staging.
