This draw is in fact deceptively good for Russia, because Sister and Love is forever are the fucking WORST. Anywhere else in the draw and he flops. [/SIZE]

The draw is really good for Russia, personally I prefer Denmark a bit more, but generally I dislike that one as well so it's indifferent to me and Russia is more impactful, and the German entry is just bad... They really want to push this to make it look better than it actually is... clever there producers! Hopefully won't have too much impact on the outcome.

... but they will rely on many 12's from their satellite states anyway.

They better don't. Last years have shown that ex-sovjet states don't necessarily vote for Russia anymore, for political reasons alone. And now that Azerbaijan is one of the few Russian-related countries in the final, he will maybe even gather more votes than Sergey.

It's not what I hope of course! :D I want Sergey to win and will vote for him multiple times on Saturday, just like I did yesterday.

Tumblr, mostly.

I am fairly certain that if Russia are going to bring *that* song with *that* act, no matter how big Sir Gay's reputation is, they can only underwhelm resultswise. I really cannot imagine a spot higher than 7th place.

All this is so underwhelming compared to You are the only one, that could have won imo.

P.S. We have had enough of the ''people in boxes'' idea, something fresher would help.

If any other country sent this, it would be doing much worse in the odds. I'm pleased that Russia decided to participate with a normal song this year instead of opting for a complete train wreck like last year or one of their infamous peace songs. 3 points.

Yes, I agree. Russia is doing well in the odds before it's because of Sergey's name being attached to it and Russia is known for giving it all for the staging. Had this song been sent in by Croatia, it will definitely be DNQ.

The song was meant to be written to give Sergey the opportunity to show-off his vocals. Last night, he almost went off-key towards the end. And the staging left me cold to me honest. I didn't get any emotion out of it. Maybe it would have been more effective if they went for the theme in the music video.

This will only get to no. 5 at most. I predict it will most likely end up in the spots of 6-10. Or perhaps do an Alexander Rybak since both decided to come back with such lacklustre song.

And also, "I Won't Break" is so much better than "Scream" in my opinion. Had Sergey actually entered this year's contest with "I Won't Break" instead, I would have been more pleased and can get behind him.

Fifth place in the running order? Now that's a surprise to me  Is that because he didn't do as well as expected in the semi? Or did they put a favourite early? xthink

I think that three things played the crucial role in putting him so early: 1) he has a lot of props (he can't be after Sweden who also have props), 2) if he comes directly before Netherlands, it will be two big contenders one after another, 3) I think he didn't win his semis. He was high, but probably in the third (or maybe second) place. If he had won, he would get Netherland's spot. That's my opinion.

Still a big budget like he had last time but this time I find the song far better.

That Sir Hat/ Sir Gay joke was funny once (and I still find it funny in this context)... but calling him like that just for the sake of mocking is ridiculous. If you mock the song - ok. If you mock the performance - ok. If you mock the voice - ok. If you mock persons - not okay.

I mean, I'm mocking Björkman every now and then but not him personally only his acting/role in Eurovision.

Meh. I was expecting for something more creative from him, but hey, I'm Sergey Lazarev! seems to be working.

you mean rather "hey, this is Russia!" , because the song / performance might not have even qualified with a country with less.. ehm.. "helpers"

Omg Russia has fallen so much in the odds.

I mean, which is understandable. It's a song that's just a skeleton for a big show, and it's like Scream should be the beginning of a journey and You Are The Only One the end and not the reverse

agree with you, however keep in mind that you owe björkman every :se: qualification since 2017. your 3 past entries wouldn't even stand a chance to qualify if it competed for finland or macedonia or latvia.

that's mostly why benjamin ended up so low with televoters last year btw.

that being said, julia would have come dead last with a big fat 0 last year if she were competing for ireland or let's say latvia (once again lol). facts are facts. tolmachevy sisters would have also failed to reach the grand final if it weren't :ru:.

oh yes as biased as you are with sweden. xoxo

russia and sweden mostly got great results over the past few years because of how they're being called. replace russia and sweden by latvia and finland, it won't be the same.

Im not biased only because I recognize hard Work. You are the one who is biased and gives 0 Points to Sweden nearly every Single year regardless of the Song I noticed

In the Opposite to Russia Sweden doesnt benefit much by political Voting. In fact Benjamin would get more than 21 Points if he competed under 80% of the other Flags.
If you didnt noticed Sweden did 6 of the last 10 Times better with the Juries and 4 Times worse. 2010 they didnt qualify because of the Juries, 2011 they didnt won (Eric Saade is the Televoters Favourite if you didnt know) because of the Juries.

and what if I gave it :12: every time? would i come across biased since i like each of swedish entry regardless the song? xcookie 2014, 2015 and 2016 were all masterpieces. ain't my fault that sweden has been sending bland entries since 2017 that didn't deserve to qualify.

that's the tea sis'.

both do actually, 2018 being the exception i guess for russia (nq) and sweden (televote).
