Could Eleni's success lead Russia to go for something similar next year? Nyusha, maybe?

Would be great to see Nyusha at ESC, I also love her "Tsunami" :-)

Liked the song but does she have indian heritage or is she just not culture appropriate?

If this is true:

"Russia – Despite no official confirmation of participation, Russian-Tajikistani singer Manizha stated during an interview at the Moscow Pre-Party for the 2018 contest that she may represent Russia in the 2019 contest with an unreleased song, titled "I Am Who I Am". Likely next year Russia will take part under the turn of the VGTRK channel, after an agreement of both channels in March 2017 stating that if Julia Samoylova was banned from participating in Eurovision 2017, then Pervy Kanal could send her the following year; and in 2019 VGTRK was going to be in the charge of Russian selection for Eurovision 2019."

Ii would be fantastic, I checked her, I loved it and it would be so fresh for Russia... :)

This better be true. I checked her stuff and wow Russia would be in it to win it.

edit: Found the Wiwi interview and the way she talks about it makes me wonder if she already has the deal. :D She has a perfect English too. Wow. Russia NEEDS her.

Stupidest most PC concept ever...

Anyways, Nyusha would be great, I've been suggesting her for years but Russia is stuck in sending dated clichéd ballads or mid 00's Schlager-Dance-Pop in English than actual contemporary good Russian Pop... and I wouldn't be surprised if they'd forced an imported nonsense peace ballad in English on her, that has little to do with her own material, just like they did on Polina who on paper looked very promising but they wasted that.

This kinda gives me hindi "The Fifth Element" vibes. One of the few songs I wish they were in English :x

Nyusha is pregnant + 2 weeks ago she refused, though she said "never say never".
Definitely not next year and definitely not via the NF (if these rumours about the NF materialize at all).

Re: RUSSIA 2019

wake me up when they are able to send polina bogusevich or sofia fisenko lol

they are 100% their best chance at winning again specially if they send one of them before they are fully grown in a kristian type situation

Hope so. Because they had wonderful entries in the past. One of their best entries were "Lost and forgotten". Loved it! Another favorite was "Shine" with the ABBA-touch. Beautiful! :D

Usually i don't like Russian entries but there were some amazing! ''Lost and forgotten'' was one of them for sure! Also after this year's fail i believe they will try to send a strong entry.

Re: RUSSIA 2019

Aleksandr Panaiotov posted "Sooner or later I'll break these walls" after his recent performance few days ago and guess who replied...

Kirkorov

"I even know where. And we will do it together."

Panaiotov replied: "Let's go! Let's bring victory to Russia finally!!!"

A perfect match actually. One of them struggles to win/is obsessed with ESC like for 24 years. Another one tried to take part openly & internally for 6 years (9 according to rumours).
