Well if the reaction to the Alexandrov Ensemble's cover of "Get Lucky" at the Olympics opening ceremony is any indication and if they win the selection I think the chances of Eurovision going back to Russia are pretty high
Of course it won't be close to the same in style but the War & Peace ballet got best of notices too and their suppose to feature 2 dancers in their presentation. So hopefully the song is a cross between the two

But it's sad that a huge country like Russia with a big language (and beautiful one) can't send Russian. What's even more hilarious is that Russia always try to send Westernized stuff in English, even import entries, when that's pretty much their antagonists
I don't get the point really, why not show big proud mother Russia? It's almost a bit comical getting these wannabe American ballads and stuff coming from Russia out of all countries...

I totally agree and i will be the first in a line to dance and shout with joy if Russia sends something ethnic in russian, but it doesn't depend on what we want, unfortunately. Isn't it funny that the most ethnic entry we had didn't have a single word in russian
I'm a little bit worried about how slow things are this year, i'm not even sure there's going to be a NF (not that i like russian NFs but it's still fun).

I'm in two minds on this... 2/3 (1994 & 2009) of my favorite Russian entries to date were winners of NF's , the other 1/3 (2003) was an internal selection and if I look at the Russian entries of the past 10 years I liked aswell then 2004 (internal), 2006 (internal), 2007 (internal), 2010 (NF), 2012 (NF) (so all in all kinda 50/50 I guess), the NF's (that I can recall atleast) have been quite dreadful imo... except for 2010 winner (which was ok though) and 2005, they still picked the least bad song from their NF's...
But then again their latest internal picks were mediocre (2011) and pure dreadful (2013)...
