Ireland will stay in the semi's for sure, The Netherlands is pretty much fucked as well. It will be interesting to see if Norway make it as well, Malta has a strong song and Portugal have done quite a decent revamp on theirs. I'm sure Armenia will still qualify despite going second.

Starting with Moldova... Should have opened with Belgium or the Netherlands I think, which both don't have an amazing position now.

Switzerland and Cyprus are rather fucked in this draw. Think Israel may fare well.

breaks after song 5 and 12

I´m pretty sure our starting position has inofficial confirmed that we have got green lights to use the projector and the animations. I guess it takes more than 30 sec to set it up correctly

:nl: are screwed going just before :fi:, why ORF? xgaah

My opinion

SEMI 1
-lol at :md: opening the show  Some members will be pissed off. I'm not sure if that was the right decision to make either xthink
-:am: is not really in a good slot (even though it's after Moldova), but I don't think it'll matter since Armenia almost always gets through.
-On the contrary, I think :be: will stand out right from the beginning. If the performance is good, I don't see them fail.
-No opinion on :nl:, I think they're ok between two "uptempos" but will it be enough to qualify?
-Of course, :fi: will stand out. They would have stood out anywhere anyway. :)
-Is it a good or a bad sign that :gr: and :ee: are following each other? I'm confused about this. Nice to see Estonia kinda late in the first half though xcheer
-I can't imagine what could happen for the middle of the lineup: :mk:, :rs: and :hu: and if any could really benefit from this draw.
-:by: may stand out after Hungary however. I guess they've got a rather nice slot.
-:ru: coming after. Well, they won't fail so... :D
-:dk: I don't know what to say about it, could either fail or sail through. There is certainly a short break after, so they may be favored for that matter.
-:al: will stand out after the break I guess. Nice slot.
-Again a very late draw for :ro:, I guess it'll be difficult for them to impress though. Albania and Georgia will most likely be strong contenders so, who knows, Romania may be in danger.
-Finally, :ge: closes the show. I guess there is no doubt now they'll qualify. Nice way to end the first semi imo.

Overall, I guess the broadcaster did a good job. I think :be::by::al::ge: may benefit the most from the draw. :nl: and :dk: may do too but in a lesser extent. I'm glad :ee: got a late slot and :ro: didn't close the show. I think it's pretty open.

tuorem Are you doing an analysis of the running order without knowing the songs? :p

I always thought semi 1 was incredibly open. The only real confirmation from the allocation draw is that The Netherlands have just had a massive stake impaled into their heart. Stale, repetitive pop sandwiched between one the coolest entries of the year and the most raw, loud and polarizing one that everyone will pay attention to. "Walk Along" initially was the only song from this semi i'd have put money on failing. This draw is now the confirmation I think. I'd be shocked if they pass.

The rest is still very open. Moldova I said before were the dark horse to do well here and will probably cause upset by passing. I'm less certain now as they are opening the show. Other than that, it's game on really for everyone in semi 1.

Semi 2 is less open, but still most countries have a chance here. San Marino, Portugal and (now i'm starting sadly to think) Czech Republic will fail. Ireland I thought might be another dark horse but that's a horrible position for them. There are many borderline qualifiers here. This year is just so hard to predict. Almost every country has a chance of reaching the final. The performances will make all the difference.

3 is my lucky number, and Belgium is #1 out of all the 40 songs in my opinion, so they have a little good luck charm going 3rd, I believe in that stuff :)

Okay. We need four more explanations though ;)

Maybe Iceland is right before because there is nothing to put or take of the stage so it will be easier to set up the staging for Sweden, but then again, maybe Austria just made a secret deal with the nordics :)

SEMI 2

-Someone wrote a few days ago :lt: could open the semi, now it's official  The advantage is they'll be the first "couple" of the night. Then I don't know whether it's good or bad for them to be first. xthink
-:ie: is 2nd. I guess this is not good at all :( I wouldn't be surprised if they did not qualify.
-:sm: comes after. Well, it's San Marino so I don't think it'll stand out enough to stick in people's memories. This slot is not good for them either imo.
-However :me: is ideally drawn after, this will most likely be successful I guess.
-:mt: seems to be in the final already, looks like a sure qualifier at this stage. It'll stand out too. xcheer
-Lol  avoided the first places so their chances may be greater. They should get through but with so many ballads (I mean I don't think we've ever seen so many of them before in a semi), one never knows. They're moderately favored imo.
-:pt: got a decent slot. A priori their chances to qualify are slim, but they're not damaged at least. They have the opportunity to stand out after Norway, so good luck to you xcheer
-:cz: of course, they got a late draw. They could not be put elsewhere imo just between two "uptempos", we'll see if that'll do the trick. They'll need all the chances they could get anyway, but I would lie if I said I see them as sure qualifiers.
-:il:'s slot is more than ok considering their entry. Can't predict anything about their potential qualification, they're of course between two ballads, but won't prefer the uptempo songs to come next? there is a risk xthink
-I'm not that satisfied with :lv:'s slot, I'd have imagined a later draw but I guess the broadcaster wanted to "spread" the most outstanding songs. It'll definitely stand out after Israel  so that may not be that bad, just Azerbaijan coming after may be a threat imo.
-:az: after Latvia is strange to me. Let's hope they won't cancel each other.
-:is: Iceland is CLEARLY not favored. Definitely one of the worst draw they could get, being between ever-striking Azerbaijan and steamroller Sweden... If they qualify, then good for them, but that'll be difficult imo. Sorry Iceland.
-:se: comes next. Nice to see they won't close the show or something. They're sure qualifiers anyway but one can expect less usual qualifiers coming after.
-I don't know what to think about :ch:, if there is a break after their performance, they may be remembered. Sure it'll be hard to perform right after Sweden, so I can't predict anything about their chances.
-:cy: got a nice slot, I expected them to be relegated to a much worse draw (instead of Iceland for instance), so it's nice for them. Plus if there is a break, they may score much higher than expected.
-:sl: has got the killer slot obviously: second to last place between two rather slow ballads... Now if they aren't sure qualifiers :D I'm happy for them, I knew Austrians would care for their Slovenian Neighbors.
-Finally :pl: closes the show. I didn't see that coming tbh and I don't know if it'll be good for them. Maybe this choice was partially made due to Monika's story and the lyrics that fit this year's theme. At least, they won't be drawn in the lineup. Go Polska xcheer

Overall, I think the draw was well made (too bad I wanted to complain much more ). To me, :mt::az::se: and :sl: are sure qualifiers because of their great draws. :me::no::lv: and :pl: aren't bad either, so they can qualify. However, :ie::sm: and :is: do have bad draws (the latter being the worst one), so I'm not too optimistic about them. Otherwise, I think almost anyone can get through, it's pretty open like in the first semi.

All I want to happen now, is Macedonia to qualify. They're right in the middle between Estonia and Sebia. I hope they'll qualify. What do you think, do they have any chance?
