I beg to differ...I don't consider it an awful draw for us at all. Denmark's song is a ballad but not a strong one, it does not stand out at least for me. And last night Eleftheria sang out of tune. In my opinion, Greece sends every year same kind of song. I have high hopes for Mandinga. Wish them best of luck in the final !

Denmark will stand out because it's between 2 uptempo songs....if it was a ballad on 16th then it would've been perfect for us...
And Greece has the advantage of having the latest draw between the two of us....

Let's hope you're not right. ;) Let's be optimistic. I think that everything decides on the stage, "THEN".

Even with the malfunction it was still the best performance of the night imo, along with the grannies

Cyprus can't sing live
Denmark is boring song
Greece is too similar to past entries they've sent and her singing isnt so great

Elena did well even if she had technical problems. I was expecting more from Azerbaijan's organizers NONO Oh well I'm glad it happen in the semifinal and not in the final. I know everything will be perfect on Sunday.

Despite the sound problems, Elena delivered a quite good and charming performance. You guys have shown how people can offer an amazing performance without using infernal machines or any other big and unnecessary elements.

I wasn't very fan of this at the beginning, but you completely deserved it, especially in this weak semi, and I'm glad we will hear Spanish twice for the first time. You have a very good draw, so I'm sure I can see you in the top-10 :D

about the problems in Norwagia newspaper
http://www.vg.no/rampelys/artikkel.php?artid=10070429

from our newspaper I'll translate what our HoD and Elena said:

Dan Manoliu,HoD:
Eurovision organisers admitted their fault for the technical problems from the semi, when Elena didn't hear herself and said they regret what happened.Despite this,Elena carried the song well and delivered the song very well. After the firsts beats, the monitorizing from the headset,in which Elena heard boy's voices and the negative of the song, disappeared,so Elena sang the entire song only by hearing the echo that came back from the hall.

Elena:
It was very hard to sing without hearing anything.I'm glad I menaged to sing Zaleilah till the end and not disappoint you,and that people voted for us so that we went in the final. We are proud to represent our country at Eurovision.

HoD
After she came back from the stage,Elena came crying in the Green Room (I knew it!:( I said she cried after I saw her face when they were announced as qualifiers :(I swear I was so mad and sad, they were supposed to be happy :( ) I gave her a hug,and congratulated her, because,in such a difficult situation, she acted like a true professional. We spoke immediately with the ebu responsible of organising esc how it was possible such a technical proble in the semifinal because we had no problems during the rehearsals. They admitted their fault and congratulated us for Elena's strength and professionalism and rest of the band during the live performance. They assured us it was an unhappy incident which they regret it and that we must not transform this into conspiracy (yes dear EBU:rolleyes:,asking wtf is wrong with the sound when nobody else had this problem and after the rehearsals were great means we accuse you of conspiracy:? ) They assured that in the final everything will be perfect (sorry I won't believe that until I see it:rolleyes:) ...

Elena Stirbescu, the general producer of Eurovision Romania said:
The happiness of our qualification was not even half of what it was supposed not be (no kidding, just look at Elena's face at 1:00 in the vid:rolleyes:) but we decided to forget all what happened and concentrate more on the final performance.

what Elena says about what happens when you can't hear in the headset:
It's like when you drive a car but the windows are misty. You can see something, but if you don't know the road, you can easily have an accident. This was my case on stage. It was good I knew well the song and that there was a perfect communication between me and the boys.I was in shock in the moment I realized I can't hear anything in the headset. For those who have never been on stage, this means it's almost impossible to synchronize with the negative and with your coleagues on stage, based only on the echo that cames back from the hall.

and about Eurovision she says:
It's a hard and complex contest, and peoplefrom home see only 10%.It's a lot of work and a difficul progra to keep up with, and if you don't respect it,you're out of the game.Participating at esc is something special,so we'd like to thank everyone from home who sent us here.We have our Romania's trust and support,so we try not to disappoint. We hope everything to be ok.

So happy that you got through, and now that Austria's out I'm gonna cheer for this with all my heart in the final. Excellent performance. Most of the people I watched the semi with last night had Romania and Finland as their personal faves, and there generally seemed to be a great vibe and atmosphere when Romania went on. Hoping you guys win on saturday!

Watching again knowing Elena had no sound in her earpiece all i can say is what a stunning performance. All the practice paid off because she knew the song and routine so well she managed to carry it off still in a terrible situation.
She shouldnt be down, she should rejoice because most others would of failed in that situation but she didnt, she still was the best singer on the night.
Now she needs to forget it and just think right,we have a decent draw, lets win this competition, because they can win it.
Fantastic performance given what happened.
12 points from the UK i hope

I agree with everything said above. I thought it was soooo unfair that she had sound problems, but she managed to pull it off and I'm sure her performance in the final will be great!

Those issues with sound monitoring were really REALLY obvious, not only in Mandinga's case, but during the course of the entire semi. It was really painful to watch singers struggling with their earpieces. Directing crew did terrible job last night technically speaking, I hope they will get it right tomorrow. Still, If I were participating last night and fail to qualify, I'd surely be pissed.

Agree! Everyone seemed to tickle with their earpieces now and again, although it was only plain obvious with Mandinga. They really ought to get things straight for the final.

Romania did SOOOO great, even though she had problems. The song wasn't even in my top 15 before, and now it's in my top 5! :D It's going on repeat right now!

Your draw is very good I think, you stand out better than Greece, don't worry about it! You'll be in top 10 for sure, most probably in top 5!

I'm not at all that confident. The latest uptempo song always stands out.
And it's at the half of the songs...people will forget it :(
plus, the crowd will go crazy at Azerbaijan before, and maybe if it was a ballads after Denmark too it would've been a little bit good. But now Denmark will stand out between 2 uptempo dance songs....
