So Iceland won the semi and Switzerland did worse than expected? Or vice versa?

I don't know why people think Sweden got a good position. On paper 25th is good but not when you're sandwiched between the bookies favourite and the pure energy from San Marino. Honestly I think they've been sacrificed a bit here

I don't know what to think about the back to back Lithuania Ukraine France ?
You wouldn't put 3 entries that can win back to back like this, did Lithuania flopped ?

I think Ukraine is so strong that having France just after seems so bizarre. But they really put France between some of the most out-there acts and why is Sweden so late ? the song is uneventful at best. San Marino and Italy will gain a lot from that.
It's either they're trying to cancel Ukraine by sandwitching it between "favourites" or like you said, Lithuania flopped. Their performance didn't get many views so I wouldn't be surprised.

Idk what y'all mean re: Swedish favoritism; their running order position is AWFUL. Sandwiched b/t 2 of the best first performances.
Yep. My guess is, from a producer‘s point, that they know that Sweden (the audience that is) is probably the most Eurovision involved country. I think their viewing figures compared to the number of inhabitants are probably one of the highest.

So what do you if you want to win the biggest viewers market to watch the performances of two big faves and make them vote for them? Correct, place that country in between. ;)

[And also to prevent a total disaster for that country ;)]

hmmm sweden now sandwiched or huge avantage because it is sweden?
san marino as last act is a terrible choice! (in normal years surely ok but when you have finland, italy & ukraine bullshit bingo!)
france now in problems - bulgaria too?
but lithuania and than ukraine is the biggest joke! - switzerland perfect placed - same italy.
malta very early.
they have rolled the dice?

I'd love for :mt: to win from 6th position though, when was the last time the winner performed 1-9th?

I think Turkey in 2003 maybe?

Or maybe they were the top two? Who knows, this running order is a bit bizarre
There's no way Ukraine did worse than 3rd in the semi and still they put it right next to France

Putting Russia and Malta side-by-side is a choice. 2 female empowerment numbers. Wonder if they are going to cancel out each other.

WTF is that Serbia-UK-Greece combo?
And the same goes for the Moldova-Germany-Finland combo.

Does anyone remember where the breaks will be again?

Maybe Ukraine ate most votes from Malta being right in front of them. Does it matter where they start tbh, i feel like they have a great chance for top 5 at the very least. Italy looks like the winner right now.

I agree. I think it was a little bit difficult, because of the fixed spot for the Netherlands also. They didn’t get a good running order, they were just lucky to be in the second half.

The running order now really makes me wonder who has won the first semi though.

  1. Cyprus - why so early?
  2. Albania - two silver bodysuit divas opening the show is just choices
  3. Israel
  4. Belgium - god, this will not thrive well
  5. Russia
  6. Malta
  7. Portugal - sandwiched between two energetic songs, will this end well?
  8. Serbia
  9. United Kingdom
  10. Greece
  11. Switzerland
  12. Iceland - these two back to back are shady
  13. Spain - might help him, completely different mood from the rest.
  14. Moldova - sandwiched between them might be trouble for her
  15. Germany - well, goodbye.
  16. Finland - at least they're far away from Italy
  17. Bulgaria
  18. Lithuania
  19. Ukraine
  20. France - interesting to put them together, although since they're in the 19 20 slot, they might still have high chances.
  21. Azerbaijan - EFENTIX
  22. Norway - EFENTIX. They know what they were doing.
  23. The Netherlands
  24. Italy - Such a good slot for them, this might win easily from here
  25. Sweden - Even if this is usually a good slot I don't think they can handle the heat from both Italy and SM.
  26. San Marino - Closing the 2019 S1, Opening the 2021 S2, and now closing the 2021 GF. Such power.

But the running order is completely different from what we are used to the past years. Especially in semi 2 today I felt that the first half was completely forgotten by the end of the semi... because they put all the favourites right after another instead of placing them apart, so they did in the final.
Songs 1-10 will be complete destroyed, even Malta, even Switzerland will have a hard time to fight the adrenaline (no pun intended ;)) at the end of the GF.
This is much more a typical TV production how we know it usually (that means: the most popular at the end because the viewers have to keep on watching to see them) than in the past years. It feels less Eurovision-y this year and more x-factor imho.
