I feel like Malta got the wrong end of the stick with how to stage this. Looks like SJB, pics look slick and the choreography probably good but It seems like it's missing the mark. She's an amazing vocalist though, so hopefully it can carry through.

On the positive side of Malta's rehearsal, I've seen this movie many times where a big favorite comes in and people don't like their first rehearsal and then they deliver anyway. On the negative side of Malta's rehearsal, read between the lines of the previous sentence.

I'm not offended by it, however there are a lot of things to improve. It might not look good in the clips since the camera didn't take too much light, but I wonder if SJB went too minimalistic on this. It might have good camera cuts, though, I hope the second rehearsal will be better.

Still, that hot pink fringe fantasy... what are the dancers even wearing?

1. Ukraine is definitely cool, I like the vocals, I like the staging, I like the outfit. It's great and mystical. But I would like a little less flickering in the background. I am proud of my country, it seems to me that this is the best performance of Ukraine at Eurovision.

2. Israel. Great vocals, but the staging is not impressive yet. Although Eden moves well, she has a natural grace.

3. Azerbaijan. I really like the backgrounds. Unfortunately, I like Efendi's choreography less, and dark outfits against a dark background are a little lost. If in Belgium everything looks like a stylish gloomy picture, then in Azerbaijan the colored background elements steal all attention. I look at the background, not the dancers, this is wrong. Efendi's dress needs to free her neck. And the gold went to her more.

4. Romania. Staging seems to me a little confusing, but interesting, it stands out among the monotonous bop dances. But the vocals upset me

5. The Cyprus staging looks good. I find the costumes to be very successful.

6. Croatia. The vocals are good, the staging is also good, but not too original.
I like the color in the suit, but the cut is not the best. But in general, it seems to me that she really can oust Israel from the final.

7. Belgium. It's style, it's dark, it's atmospheric. The vocals are flawless. But a close-up of a face in the background is a bad decision. But she stands out, and I don't know if this production will be for her benefit or harm.

8. Malta. There has been no performance yet. But the outfit ... Yes, it's no secret that I don't want Malta to win. But not at the cost of failure because of the outfit. It wouldn't be fair.

On positive moment of Malta, Destiny doesnt look like 40yo mom in this dress, pretty much good 20s.

First Israel now Malta, I've been saying the whole day they are low key ripping off Dora because they think nobody will notice as nobody actually watches Dora hahahahaha

A winner to this day - draga Ukrajina! Salute to you brothers! You ate it!

Now I'm so proud of myself hahaha I've topped that in top 3 with Italy and Lithuania (they underwhelmed yesterday but they are still in the right spot).

The biggest surprise of today is Croatia, nobody ecpected it, people were shocked by the visusals and Albina. Hateful comments against her looks emerging later are simply a proof to envy and miscalculation about Croatia not being a contender.

Belgium is a fresh air of decency and art but this is not what the ESC audience expects. Unfortunately.

So after all the bollocks I've seen (pardon my French) I'm only waiting to see what Italy will do on stage. I know it will be wild.

And the Greek visual interests me.

From the rest I don't expect anything but vašar and pazar. Slavs and Turkics will understand me haha. Bye bye.

I just watched a bunch of rehearsals and...Out of the 'attractive young(er) woman with pop song' Croatia and Cyprus are by far superior. I didn't think much of Belgium and Norway, but with the parade of female vocals (for Norway) and louder/screamier music (for Belgium) they really stand out. Belgium's staging is weird tho. Out of the later ones, Israel was the best imo. It looked the most complete, even though it could be way better. I hope Roxen is saving her not-that-great-voice as the vocals were BAD, but I think the staging can look cool when 'finished' and on camera and maybe there will be an outfit change.

I think there has been enough said about Efendi's dancing and outfit, and for Destiny....She looks very static. I don't wanna fall into stereotypes but her lack of moving kind of fits her posture, she's literally just standing there doing nothign but sing which doesn't suit the up tempo song, and the snippet of the 'je me casse' part was very underwhelming.

More neon pink? Really???

At least Destiny sounds amazing, and to be honest I'm glad there are no props and gimmicks to distract from her voice (aside from the colour scheme that is...)

Yes, I thought that they decided to make her look more youthful and playful. But it would be better if they did it only with makeup and hair, and not with color.

I don't think anything about the Maltese rehearsal looked bad per se. Nothing about it though screamed "hot favourite coming through to win" besides her humongous vocals. It obviously will look better on camera but is this all enough to get Malta their first win? The hype for this entry continues to baffle me, I must admit.

Oh, here is Malta. The vocals are impeccable, I love her hand movements. Destiny is charismatic enough. But the one who came up with these costumes was definitely her enemy.

what a start of rehearsals day 2. That was slayage, vocals, dance, stanging - everything on level, so far best uptempo entry

i mean it was kinda fun they put Angel after El Diablo but on the stage these performances one after other look strange

still not getting into Croatian song this year, so here i am totally indifferent

as expected calm dark performance with studio like vocals, but face on background doesnt look good for me. Anyway i am still pretty sure they qualify as they outstand too much

from meh song few months ago to a very good entry i like to listen/watch, Eden is full of energy and i dont see she can NQ

worse than expected, bad vocals and dress as whole other level. Sorry Romania, but in this semi there are much better contenders to qualify

i liked it but i am kinda dissapointed that they didnt do anything wow. İ hope they add pyros and fire and on screen it will all look great. Samira has much charisma as for me and her dance is more then enough for that song, its not that uptempo after all

slayage. This is another sure qualifier and headliner of semifinal. Should have performed last tbh. Seyu seyu seyu and rave instrumental give a big hook which easily to remember. Bless with staging

i just expected something different from Malta, more like in MV. But we got typical SJB staging and bad dress choice (i would say rather color). Vocals are slaying ofc but that doesnt look like winner at all (at least for now) even if i like song and wouldnt mind it win.
