I just woke up. After sleeping on it I want to comment on "Saudade Saudade" by Maro. Maybe who knows, for the nostalgia of the emotions felt last night. Although I preferred Os Quatro e Meia and Syro (and to a lesser extent, in my fourth place, FF), Maro (my third place) was the most reasonable and predictable choice (in fact at some point the suspense of the final standings was disappeared... mathematically the victory of "Saudade Saudade" was clear). Maro's song comes out of the box, is magical and is actually well constructed. At the Eurovision Song Contest, what worries me is the staging because "Saudade Saudade" is not a dynamic piece but a highly static piece. I recommend minimalist staging to Portuguese friends. Imagine the sun of "Sun Within" shining faintly, the water gushing and falling from the falls, a little mist and finally Maro with the other singers sitting in a semicircle singing. So yes! The proof could also be a victory!
I want to make two more reflections, the first is on "We support Maro" and the votes in the Poll. Last night, I read many members cheering Maro well before she won then I saw the comments with the votes and finally the Poll. I'm going to sleep, I get up this morning and I see some people who have voted Maro not calculate it in the least in the Ranking Game and in the ESC Ranking. Were the ratings I read last night on the quality of the song then? It is not possible to read 10 points and then see the same singer out of the Top 10 of one of these users. It is not a controversy but a sad observation of how the fans are hungry for news, fickle and sometimes not sincere (because, let's face it, smiles aside this is a competition). That's why I told a member of Thread France yesterday, not to fully believe in the Poll. However, for me Portugal is currently in thirteenth place in my ranking and over time can even enter my Top 10.
The second and final consideration is that yesterday for the first time, I saw the Portuguese Festival. I was surprised to see that Portugal is one of those countries that musically is very tied to its traditions. Musical experimentation fails to prevail over their tradition which is a supporting pillar. I really liked this thing. I think you have to be proud of it.
Bravo Portugal! See you in Turin indeed, no... maybe we will meet first in the world playoffs!

A warm hug
