I’ve tried to write
A million other songs but
Somehow I can’t move on, oh you’re gone

Takes time, alright
And I know it’s no one’s fault but
Somehow I can’t move on, oh you’re gone

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Tem tanto que trago comigo
Foi sempre o meu porto de abrigo
E agora nada faz sentido
Perdi o meu melhor amigo

E se não for demais
Peço por sinais
Resta uma só palavra

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

I’ve tried, alright
But it’s killing me inside
Thought you’d be by my side always

I'm really glad that Maro brought on the backing singers for the final performance, I think it needed that "community" feeling. I do, however, feel that the big studio performance of the song takes away from the beauty of the song a little bit. :10: points for the final performance, but I want a little bit more.

Maro's live in the final is trending at #34 in Spain, it may be mostly thanks to rtve transmmiting the show live, but it's a good sign

mmm I must say I find her voice incredibly dreary and uninteresting individually tbh. However with the collective of people together it is much more pleasant, and I do quite enjoy that aspect of it and the performance was rather nice. It's good they're there, if it was just her it would be such a damp cloth and boring as hell. This is my favourite entry from them since Salvador, by far. However, that doesn't really mean a huge amount given that i've actively hated most of their entries over the past few years. I'll be kind and add Portugal to my ocean of :6: pointers

Chanel forging that ironclad alliance xheart Can't wait for the 24 points to be exchanged to the ire and boos of all the fat balding eurogays.

I honestly can't see a portuguese judge panel giving a 12 to Chanel, not that she don't deserve it, but there are a lot of other songs they would score higher than Spain and probably the same goes for the Spanish judges, the televote tough will very likely give 12 to each other.
But it must be said that Portugal having Chanel in the semifinal and Spain transmitting the portuguese nf is probably due to RTVE planing on reviving the OTI festival as Hispavisión, a eurovion-like contest with spanish speaking contries plus Brazil and Portugal as guests.

It's quite unique.

We do have an abundance of sad and emotional songs this year, and the subject matter here is also quite ... sad and reflective. However ... somewhat ironically, the song comes across as quite uplifting. And I put that all down to the girls themselves - singing together in a semi-circle with smiles on their faces.

They bring a positive energy to the song, and there really is something quite endearing about it.

Alesia Michelle, in her latest reaction vid, was picking fault with the having the singers on stage. Complete nonsense! I wonder what she was actually watching?

Having all the singers on stage, is what really lifts the song that extra notch. Not just listening to, but WATCHING the relationship between the vocalists. "Seeing" the smiles on their faces when they look at each other, shows a real chemistry that was missing from the semi. It brings the song alive. Great stuff! (y)

Completely agree with everything you said. I love Alesia's reactions, but I'm not on board on this one. The song had a totally different mood with the other girls on stage.

And yeah. Though the song speaks about missing and longing, it leaves you with a warm uplifting feeling. I've watched tons of reactors and they all say that.

Personally I really like how there are five of them singing on stage, I feel like it gives the song a communal vibe that's very enjoyable to watch.

Honestly I was half thinking they should have a sixth singer or have someone play the guitar on stage as well.

The voice is actually very likeable. It’s calming and smooth (not flat), it’s has a late 80s vibe. Sade anyone? And I get the emotion, it’s been the only sad ballad this year where I can exactly feel the emotion. Everything is well done and executed, but there is one big problem: the melody is so repetitive without a climax, it would have been great to have the chorus only once and then a bit of another direction (again, Sade comes to my mind) but instead it’s like the tide. Soft waves come and go but leave empty sandbanks half the day.

One does not simply send a Sugababes-unplugged-meets-Julieta-Venegas entry to Eurovision and expect me to be something other than absolutely besotted. I think this is a perfect song. :12: points.

I like this a lot and I am positively surprised about Portugal once again being appreciated by the fans for sending something special. Hopefully this will not be a flop like O Jardim.
And given people compare all the ballads this year, I would say it gives me a similiar vibe of hypnotic monotony as Greece and Netherlands only that I sorta like this one a bit more.

The portuguese broadcaster released the results of the semifinals:
Source(EscPortugal) J=Judge T=Televote

Semifinal 1

01. Maro - "Saudade, Saudade" - 22 points (12J+10T)
02. Os Quatro E Meia - "Amanhã" - 18 points (6J+12T)
03. FF - "Como É Bom Esperar Alguém" - 16 points (8J+8T)
04. Diana Castro - "Ginger Ale" - 14 points (10J+4T)
05. Aurea - "Why?" - 14 points (7J+7T)

06. Fado Bicha - "Povo Pequenino" - 11 points (5J+6T)
07. Valas & Os Astronautas - "Odisseia" - 7 points (4J+3T)
08. Norton - "Hope" - 7 points (2J+5T)
09. Kumpanhia Algazarra - "A Minha Praia" - 5 points (3J+2T)
10. The Mister Driver - "CaliSun" - 2 points (1J+1T)

Semifinal 2

01. Milhanas - "Corpo de Mulher" - 20 points (12J+8T)
02. Inês Homem de Melo - "Fome de Viagem" - 19 points (7J+12T)
03. Pongo & Tristany - "Dégrá.dê" - 16 points (10J+6T)
04. Syro - "Ainda Nos Temos" - 14 points (4J+10T)
05. Pepperoni Passion - "Código 30" - 13 points (8J+5T)

06. Jonas - "Pontas Soltas" - 13 points (6J+7T)
07. Os Azeitonas - "Solta a Voz E Canta" - 9 points (5J+4T)
08. Blacci - "Mar No Fim" - 6 points (3J+3T)
09. Vampiro Submarino - "Ao Lado de Mim" - 4 points (2J+2T)
10. Cubita - "Uma Mensagem Tua" - 2 points (1J+1T)

In case of a tie, as it was the case with Pepperoni Passion and Jonas in semi2, the vote of the judges is the tier breaker and I personally find it both baffling how Pepperoni scored higher with the judges and also hopeful that if next year there's a really good bop in the competition it will not be killed by them.
