I love the mix of many different sounds, symbolism of performance and dance, perfectly connected with metaphors in lyrics.
It would be the most unique winner ever, and it is possible.

When I've listened to this song the first time, I thought "wtf is this? :shock:" But I have to confess that from that time onwards, I started feeling more and more involved with this song, and it was the only decent and interesting option we had. And I love watching his performance and the instrumental part is enigmatic, magic and appealing. The more I listen to it, the more I feel this weird connection with it.

But the most important thing is that finally RTP has finally decided to put and end to the old-fashioned, poor and meaningless selection of random songs, and has allowed creative composers and singers to try their luck instead. And it seems they've learned a lot with hosting the "Festival da Canção". That is certainly due to have been the hosts of ESC last year.

I respect Portugal for sticking to their own style (or rather for doing their own thing I guess), but I don't get the hype behind this one. Oddly reminds me of Netta last year. Just have a hard time connecting with those flamboyant type of artists, I like it more down-to-earth, humble... normal in a way. Also not a fan of excessive vibrato :?

I can appreciate the originality however, so... five points?

Along with this is a song that really stands out It's so unique, original, and it just grabs one's attention right away. Yet another song that I would like to see on the throne. It's much better than Salvador's entry and much more authentic as well.

A couple of years ago I would say that, but Eurovision has been getting edgier and edgier each year. Jamala, Salvador and even Netta are not the classic safe traditional winners from the beginning of the decade, and this sort of avant-garde more modern alternative songs has been getting closer and closer to the top.
I think this year will really come down to the staging and the hype built on the rehearsals/shows weeks though.

Sorry, but none of the artists you cited is comparable to the edginess of Conan's song. His entry is challenging the listening habits of the audience as Rambo Amadeus did (in a complete different way and with a different attitude of course), whereas the ones you name were all seeking to please or at least touch the listeners. Don't get me wrong, I make no judgement here, I'm just saying, Conan is so much more raw and unpolished. If you look at harmonies, dissonances, minimalistic structures, it might be clear what I mean.

It depends really on each individual member of the audience, to some this won't be challenging at all. So not everyone will find it interesting on the idea that somehow it's something new to them (it isn't to me). It's like last year's winning entry that stood out to some but others thought was actually nothing that special at all. And I wonder whether the idea that something is supposed to be cool looking or different in some way really makes for a song that will become a Eurovision standard in the future, I suspect not. Many probably don't care about that and think it is in any way similar to last year then they will be backing the winner. But the real winner to me is the song that I enjoy and want to play more in the future. Short term popularity in Eurovision is often based around ephemeral things like staging and something that's supposed to be unusual in the performance.

Lol conan is my #1 because of how the fucking insane the entire ensemble is: the music, the vocals, the choreo, the meme potential. IDGAF that it's "art" or a "masterpiece". It's FUN, and it makes me feel better on every watch and listen, and that's all what matters to me.

What do you mean overrated by some people? There are people who have it 1st in their choices. Some people have Italy, some people even have Slovenia. The song is only 7th (?) in the odds. It´s just a different opinion, i don´t see the problem here.

No i don't mean that! I have read some comments (everywhere not just on this forum) from people that are really thinkING that this is the meaning of art! However i like it too and looking at the SF1 songs i will propably vote it since all my favourite songs are on the SF2!

Well, music IS art at any form. that's how i see it. People for example look at paintings and they get full with emotions, i look at paintings and all i see is colours.. that doesn't mean it's not art.
However, i encourage you to vote for it!

Maybe he'll do the spanish party but I wouldn't count on that too much
