Why am I seeing this (Portugal) doing what Poland did last year but the revesre? A jury darling but not so much on televoting and overall a Top 10 result.
Anyway we'll see...

Salvador is after 1st run of 1st semi now in my top 5 can he beat Italy??

No, but Portugal can be very proud of this entry, even if it should be only between 10 and 15 in the end.
I just watched a recording from the dress rehearsal (this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHQeYUyMW18) and although I did not understand one single word of the lyrics (because I do not speak the language), I felt emotionally overwhelmed by this performance. It has something magic, I can't really put it in words.
I will definitely vote for Portugal in the final on Saturday. Best wishes from Germany!!!

OMG THERE IT IS! IT finally hit me like a train on a track. I always liked the song a lot (it's just outside of my top 10) .... but something was always missing for me to consider it being a serious Top 3/5 contender. This dress-rehearsal performance though ... I can't really describe it ... but wheeeew. xfaint

So let's make the 12 points from Germany happen!

Good luck tonight Salvador and all our Portuguese friends xheart Much more excited than nervous for tonight; I've a feeling the jury vote could be y'all's to lose. Whatever happens, I'm so grateful to have had these past couple months to learn so much about these two talented artists in y'all's nation and the Portuguese music scene in general.

We feel your passion gurrl xheat

This is picking up some momentum, isn't it?

I'm thinking about putting some money it. It should slay with the Juries so its odds will come tumbling down (like Australia's did last year - everyone was assuming it was going to win)

Yeah, it really is. I've seen people crying in the press room today after Salvador's performance.. Visceral emotional reactions.

My only doubt is whether people will go for it in a first casual listen. It's one of those songs that grows on you, so i can't really predict the outcome.

Still, regardless of the voting, it's been a wonderful ride...

It was amazing seeing Rodrigo so emotional on the live stream. I was right there with him. Italy would be a good winner, but I don't care, because everything I have, my heart and soul are behind Portugal. A Eurovision song for the ages. Tomorrow will be emotional.

The bet for Italy and for Portugal to win are the two most made bets on Oddschecker right now, out of all the markets in everything that is on offer (sports, politics, etc). This is shaping up to be a very interesting weeK!

Argh, the suspense is killing me! I made the decision not to watch any jury rehearsals, but I am so happy to see your responses and how Portugal came first in the jury!

Note that the jury votes haven't been revealed yet - people are just assuming, rightly or wrongly, based on how the performance came across. A good performance in the jury rehearsal is a positive indicator, of course, but I remember seeing a lot of people in 2015 saying 'Italy must have won the jury vote for the final, they were spectacular in that rehearsal!' And we know how that ended: 6th with the jury, giving them 3rd place overall despite a televote win.

That said, I'm thrilled to hear that people are happy with the performance, and I'm itching to see him live on TV tomorrow morning. Though I still have no idea who I want to see winning this year... can't we just, I don't know, crown Italy and Portugal as joint winners or something?

Just to be clear, no one knows that Portugal won the jury vote. Results aren't released until after the contest.
