I remember another interview of Salvador, where he said that all the songs in Eurovision are the same,
so basically yes he meant exactly most of the other competitors.
I think we need to be careful when referring to content expressed from Salvador's Interviews because there is a big danger of taking the information out of context.
For example, there are interviews given when Salvador hasn't even heard anything from Eurovision and Interviews and when Salvador finally has some exposure and understanding of the contest. So of course, if he is asked a question about Eurovision when he has heard little of the songs, he would draw from his less than positive experience of the music industry in general and of his idol experience. If you have never heard of Eurovision songs before, you will start to listen first from a small circle of songs. Because there are so many, you will notice that from a musical perspective, many songs at first will have a similar trend of rhythm and bass. It is only as you listen to more songs, that one is exposed to more diverse songs.
Between the period after FdC to before the semi-finals, he has expressed that he feels very bittersweet towards the Eurovision experience, as radio stations and venues which have repetitively rejected him are now welcoming him with open arms. In other words, he speaks from the experience of knowing the difficulties of being a musician artist befor people recognise and start to notice you.
End point: we can't assume that the Salvador who has been in previous interviews has the same feelings and knowledge that he has now. He is still learning as he goes how to cope with the overall experience.
