Even with the previous voting system we would win with 417 points, ahead of Rybak's 387 ... this really went big!
Bulgaria would have 352 (!)

This year reminds me of 2015 with a big difference of points between the top and bottom half

Imagine the reaction of someone in 2007 if you told them that in 10 years time the top 4 would be Portugal, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Belgium.

I think Italy has actually gone under because people haven't understood the meaning of the song.

Portugal, well, I won't listen to it again.

Congrats Portugal!

At least there is one thing that nobody could deny this year, diversity have won! :)

On the song, great artist with one of the most romantic song ever heard on ESC.

He sounded like a snobbish elitist prick, I for one will not watch next year.

I would respect more if Salvador did not throw shit on all the other participants just because they use fireworks.

Anyway, congratulations Portugal. As a country who has been trying for so long, I am sure you will be delighted to host the contest next year.

Oh my goodness, I'd forgotten about his preachy speech. He could have surely found a better way to express his joy at winning rather than throwing shade on all of the more showy entries. And no-one can argue that it's because English isn't his first language as he spoke extremely eloquently and in an assured manner - he knew exactly what he was saying, and I agree with Jeansy that it came off as elitist.

Pop music today does not instantly equal disposable and "fast food" - Bulgaria and (dare I say it) Belgium proved that tonight.

But I'm not labouring any point here - Salvador came first with the juries and first with the public vote so the song clearly hit the right note across the board. I just wish it had been used at the climax of an old-faahioned romantic movie rather than in an international song contest as I'd probably have appreciated it much more in that setting.
