Jury-----> party killers
Portugal------> party time

It is obvious that if this did well in televoting the jury killed it (Igranka story). But sad that it didn't make it...it is actaully the only cheerful song

Sure, if you take a look at the jury list I'm certain you'll be ensured that all of them have a secret political agenda to wipe out any trace of unique Portuguese culture. Conspiracies at every opportunity!

No. Too cheap and embarrassing even for the folky locals. If the juries helped this be stuck in the semi then god bless them and keep them. But I'm hoping more people had the sense not to swallow it.

I think it was one of the best songs this year xshrug

But then again this year is weak, so it has to be seen in that context.

Well, since I discovered the songs of the 1st-semi yesterday, I'll give my opinion on the Portuguese entry this year :

First of all, welcome back Portugal. It's always nice to see countries returning to the contest. I really didn't know what Portugal could come up with this year and... well, this sounds very you! Kudos for singing in your own language, that's really nice. As to the song, I would lie if said that I loved it, this was cheerful, the singer was pretty, however I didn't like her voice, especially on the last note which seemed a little bit hard for her. This is not my type of song but I thought that it could stand out among all the ballads... Well, Susy didn't qualify and I can't say that it made me sad. To me, it lacked something that could really move people, and it was getting repetitive towards the end.

As soon as I'll get the cd, I may be less harsh about it. It's a pretty song but that's all and there were much better songs in this lineup imo.

They should've send Catarina - just sayin'

Hope i won't hear of Catarina nowhere near the future, so sick of it... just saying. Maybe her song was slightly better at the NF, but it hadn't any room for improvement and Suzy's team still managed to change the song and make it at least festive and fun. She has charisma, has the "guilty pleasure" factor... Catarina would've sit in the semi finals, so what's the point?

If we're to change our view on the ESC participation, then let's make it professional and start inviting and promoting professional singers. Who the hell is Catarina anyway? xshrug

Here is a message Suzy posted on her facebook page (she wrote in portuguese, I translated, so sorry for any mistakes...):

" Dear family , friends and fans!
Again thank you for the support, love and strength you gave me in this short journey , because we were one of the last countries to announce the winner of the Festival da Canção. I tried to do everything I had at my fingertips and with few possibilities , resources and timings we had, promote the theme of PORTUGAL and thus dignify our country .
Although the audience , backstage and other colleagues , and Europe have vibrated with the QUERO SER TUA , and have felt a great affection since I started promoting a few days before going to Amsterdam , do not forget that Portugal unfortunately can not compete with the countries of the former USSR ! We are few, we have few neighbors ... I knew what to expect in this DIFFICULT SEMI -FINAL ! But by the end we tried to think positive and do the best job possible .
I thank all the Portuguese delegation for monitoring and fantastic tract that had me , my team stage I love from the heart for your commitment and professionalism to the team by AM Productions try to take me abroad and believe me , the excellent and exemplary stylist João Rolo , for producing fantastic dresses that were worshiped in Europe and discussed , which originated as a Barbie Suzy and I must thank an amazing human being , dedicated, patient and very professional: Vasco da Camera Pereira , love you from the heart !
I feel I accomplished the goal : I gave my best and that dignified my country , leaving Europe in the mood to hear more of Suzy , and as you can imagine I won't stop here .
It was a unique and unforgettable experience to be part of the biggest event in music in Europe and part of the family of Eurovision , knowing that the public were exited in the semi - final ( who was there can prove it ... ) was a dream come true !
Now let's working , be positive , with much strength to move forward and the feeling of accomplishment .
On the 11th ( Sunday) we arrive to Lisbon at around 5.30 p.m .
I count on you ... kisses "
