The Portuguese jury panel is very bad. I expect most of them to vote for the old-fashioned songs and put the innovative ones at the bottom of their rankings.
Apart from Jan Van Dijck, do you know any of the others? Myself, I have no clue who they are. I just thought it wasn't such a good idea to have a foreigner there. Imagine he actually likes the Dutch entry and wants to votes for it? Everyone will think he's biased.
No, but that's actually bad. I've read the info about them and they don't seem very good to judge the ESC to be honest.
Yes, it'll be bad for him. If The Netherlands are his favourite he will probably not rank it #1 because of that.
I also read the info and thought they were ok, although I was a bit (a lot, rather) in the dark. I actually prefer people like that who have a general connection to music than actual artists connected to one style or another. I don't like jurors to have been former ESC contestants for instance, like some countries have.
Also they are not old, early twenties to early forties... except the van dijck character, of course. I wouldn't have him.
