Re: POLAND 2019

A revamped version that never existed and never will be, I can't recall any Polish entry that has been revamped (except cutting "My Słowianie" into 3min). I agree it had a lot of potential, but that's it. Ukraine we are not.

I like "Delirium", if Isabell sang it exactly like in the studio version she would've qualified unless she ruined the staging with clothes, awkward "dance" or make-up.

Well, I think you have revamped in the past at some occasions but I might be wrong xshrug

Isabell can't sing (regardless of what one thinks of the song). She is an amateur screamer who seems to delude herself that she's Celine Dion while she is only screaming and being off-key half of the time

Re: POLAND 2019

I know alot of people dislike her, and I think that includes TVP, and her material in the last years were mediocre mostly (except for "Riotka" that was pretty catchy), but I still think that with the RIGHT entry, DODA could be a good option. If the performance is well-thought-thru (unlike the mess of performance we saw in Lisbon), and the song is good, I think she could be a success. She has the charisma and stage presence for sure, she can sing live and she would be talked about, the only important thing is that not her or her regular collabos should be involved in writing the song though, because they clearly are out of touch now.

I would even like to try such an odd combo as having Donatan produce the entry and have Doda sing it. I think TVP should think outside of the box, it's clear that Poland needs a strong performer, a strong song and a strong performance, not one or the other, but the full package. Going back to dreadful ballads might just push you over the edge to qualify, but it won't make an actual impact. Since established popular acts don't want to enter, I actually see Doda accepting if the song/package is right and she's internally selected because she has nothing to loose now that her career has been flopping for the past years. I think for sure it's better than all those dreadful amateurs competing in the national selection.

Re: POLAND 2019

Well.. Doda... maybe she is very fast-talking, especially about herself, she can sing, but she is pretty lame in making music or lyrics. I don't know A-lister if you know Polish language, because you'are pretty much interested in Poland's participation ;) , but ALL Doda's lyrics are so stupid like written by 5YO girl and her music is not good as well. The only good song of Doda is "High Life" but this is made by Ania Dąbrowska, so...

Doda is giving many interviews about Eurovision and in theory she's right (TVP gives no money, staging is important) but in practise... I still remember one of her performances from 2017/6 when she was singing on oriental rug/turkish carpet about sweeping under the rug someone's lies. That's her top IMO, but yes... she can do a buzz around her. I like her "sex bomb" outfit on MTV EMA that was noticed around the Europe. I don't think she and her team are able to make a hit.

Just like Sylwia Grzeszczak, endless candidate for some people... she released a new music video few days ago and I think she never made a progress in her silly music.

Ifi Ude was one of my favourites this year, but "Love is stronger" was not even close to win, so there's no point to make "what if" discussion. But she's an insteresting artist, I checked her other songs, so maybe she will decide to do something next year? I liked Carmell from 2017, I hoped she's gonna participate this year in NF, but those guys who made her song decided to send something by themselves and TVP did not qualify them to the final... I liked their songs anyway, so no-names are not that bad but for popularity ESC in Poland it would be good to see something like "My Słowianie" once again. A banger made by famous singer.

I am rather against disco-polo, because 99% of those songs are bad produced, sang by nasal, weak vocalists. I don't think Sławomir would be a hit on ESC as well - this kind of joke song is good in Polish "funny" lyrics for Polish drunk or young people e.g. on weddings. On the other hand - I think Sławomir is a one hit wonder.

Mrm Well, yes - this is not that bad, I forgot about this one, but I am not a fan. "Kathrarsis" is one of a few her songs that got some airplay in Poland for a while.

Now she's making "hits" like her newest wedding music video "Miłość na etat". This is a perfect difinition of what I was talking about in previous post - her skills as creator of lyrics / music.

On the other hand, I admit it - Doda on Eurovision could be a very good promotion of a contest in Poland and since we had the worst viewership EVER, it could be okay, but if you ask me - more probable is seeing her in jail not on ESC stage since there are charges against her because of using gangsters to threat her ex, lol ;d

To be honest, I don't have any expectations for Poland 2019 after this year. I will see what next months will bring for us.

My interest in Polish selections has to do with my personal connection to Poland... ;)

As for Doda, I think her earlier stuff with Virgin as well as her debut solo stuff was pretty strong, but I dunno what happened after that but the material became really weak after that (including "High Life" which imo is a really bad song, all her English stuff is basically). Lyrically, I don't really care too much, ESC was never really about strong lyrics, it's more the overall package and if the song is good or not. I know that her team his lame lately and they don't do any good songs anymore, this is why she would be chosen as a performer only and they should pick a complete different producer/songwriter and team them up. I still think Donatan would be a good producer.

Only if the ballad is good, which hasn't been the case for almost all ballads Poland sent so far.

Doda really? I lost my hope few years ago.
She wants a whole team, money, killer song, perfect staging, everything especially for her.. Of course she won't get it. She is attention whoring all the time.

Of course, smth fantastic, classy like Poalnd 1999 - Mietek Szcześniak - "Przytul Mnie Mocno"! :)

The problem were vocals usually, so they need great, big vocals..and of course quality composition which can be appreciated with jury as well, not only televoting.. :)

I wouldn't call that song great but each to its own. Classy - yes, vocals - pristine, the musicianship - ok, but the song altogether very stale & dull for me. I would have a hard time recalling how the melody went even after listening to it 5 times daily (I made an experiment) few years ago - the only thing that leaves an impression is the last 15 seconds of it when he hits the highest notes so I wouldn't like anything resembling that. Not embarrassing at least unlike some after him. I love our first 4 entries (94-97) on the other hand.

I want to TVP make an internal decision next year. I don't want to see preselections with amateurs, whose wrote their songs in 1 day especially for the contest. It always ends bad.
