I did not predict him to qualify, but I'm happy for him. He was one of the best singers and most genuine singers of the night and it's always nice to see Poland do well since they gotten beaten up big time in the contest's past.

Wonderful song, voice and performance xlove. I fell in love with this after seeing his NF performance, he is so charismatic. In the semi however I felt he was moving his hands too much, it looked a bit unnatural. Just keep it simple in the final and touch people's hearts.

congrats, I still don't like it. I see him as a performer singing in a medieval themed park. I can't understand why but still I agree with Europe's choice so congratulations Poland

Poland's song has ACTUALLY helped me with my depression, something that I've suffered with for a long time. I don't know how, but this song speaks to me. I can connect to it, unlike other ballads like Serbia and Israel.
I'm so happy that he went to the finals yesterday, I was super worried because some great songs have been lost in the semifinal, probably due to going out second (San Marino 2013, Israel 2014).
This is my winner this year!

I don't particularly like this song, but his vocals were really amazing yesterday

Poland wouldn't be in the final without UK, Ireland, Ukraine, Lithuania and Germany voting in this semifinal. I'm not angry at this qualifying, cause the performance was ok, but I won't be excited to see it on Saturday, that's for sure :)

Well, I am not sure about it. Germany, Lithuania or Ukraine are not surities of our points and this is not fair to credit all Polish points to the diaspora. Of course, I know that we got some points from UK and Ireland, but I think this is more possible that we got points from many countries, because people just liked his performance. Feedback is quite positive, a lot of good coments on the Internet, this entry is different from others, so it's not that hard to understand that it reached a good place because of the performance. Just look at the iTunes chart - now "Color of your life" is charted higher than many other artists but not in countries that you named.

So, I don't think that that Poland is in the final because of good allocation with 'friendly' countries.

For those who are interested in reactions in Polish media - they are really positive. It is hard to find a bad review or comment on the social media or comment sections under the articles (really!). I think Michał Szpak has at this moment the best press out of our last 3 entries.

I've found some bad comments and all of them were due to his appearance. He was on X-Factor few years ago and sone people still didn't get used to him :)

He was really good last night. Stable and powerful performance. Very deserved final.

Well this sounds like a typical Eurovision song to me (meaning it's not brilliant), however he can give a solid performance. I just feel that the song is too weak to succeed given its competition.

Final Verdict
:pl:
2 points
Position I want: 23rd
Position I think: 25th

I have to confess: for some reasons I actually did the unthinkable... I voted for him :? I wanted him to qualify so that other awful borderline qualifiers wouldn't sail through. If I knew Norway were in trouble, I would have voted for Norway but now it's too late ;(

BTW He has over 1mln views on youtube already xshock

Thank you for your crucial and game-changing vote xheart hehe

Probably most of viewers are from Poland, but I wish it was from other countries.

That's true. However, even without Polish diaspora I think he probably would have qualified anyway. Juries would have pushed him through. Besides, he has over 1 mln views on Youtube so unless he is cheating (like some people suggested) then I think people for some reasons find his performance appealing. We will find out tonight :)

About the cheating thing... I could have believed if anyone apart of Donatan accused him of that. Donatan can't lose, so this could be the reason of him saying that. hehe

It wasn't only Donatan - some people on Youtube were saying that he supposedly cheated as well. I even posted a video in which a man was saying that Michal had bought most of his Youtube views. I don't know whether it is true or not, but I don't think anyone would be that desperate to get a little bit of attention.

Yeah, Michał gets enough attention because of his look, haha!

I know that in Poland and other Central/Eastern European countries it's a big deal but here in Western Europe most people probably do not care about his look (at least that's the case in London). Still, he has quite significant fanbase located up here. I think most people are mainly intrigued by his voice rather than his appearance.

Tastes differ, I know, but had I been in the jury, Poland would have ruined Australia's chances to stand out: the first one conveys emotions while the latter just sings very well imo.

I think it's an odd succession and I feel like Michal won't be harmed as much as people think.
