Exactly, meaning that songs can be panned by the Eurovision Fan Bubble and triumph in the voting.

Hahaha, you miss the point (or you pretend that you don't udnerstand). :fi: 2014 was one of the favourites to win but the Finnish public decided that PKN's song is supposedly the best... The result was fortunately just and fair - they ended up on last place in their semifinal. I really hope that Poland will end up in the same way.

Go right ahead; as I said, I'm not here to take the piss out of people who are upset that Margaret didn't win. But the precedent for songs being panned universally then winning NFs fair and square makes arguments that this NF was somehow rigged all the more tenuous.

They will :) One of the clearest non-qualifiers of all time.

That just because a song is chosen in National Final doesn't mean it appeals to wider audience and is not a disgrace. Finland was one of the favorites to win and ended up on last place.

Yes, but you're basing all of this off the reaction from the Eurovision fans... Fair enough PKN had the same reaction from fans and the public alike, but remember a little song called Suus? yeah well that was panned constantly by fans and then all of a sudden boom, Rona slayed and came 5th in Baku. Choosing an unconventional song that brings out the ESC-fan tears by breaking the mould of slut pop divas and Swedish cheese doesn't necessarily mean a complete flop you know.

Margaret would flop too.

Suus is indeed unconventional song and was one of my favorites back in 2012. Michal's bore cannot be compared to Suus because it is not different to other ballads - it is just the same type of boring ballads that Poland used to send before their return. There are tons of songs like this one in Eurovision as of now so it doesn't stand out at all. IMO it is just as bland as, let's say Hungary last year.

If this song makes it to the final, the reaction here will be epic to see.

Bookies don't agree with you. :)

And bookies don't know everything, otherwise Michal's winning wouldn't have been such a surprise.

Hopefully it won't. Sadly there is a huge possibility it will because of Polish diaspora and the fact that the second semi is extremely weak as of now (with few exceptions). It would be a disaster if this bore qualified instead of :bg: or :mk: for example.

Why do you think :bg: song will be great? I can agree with the Queen qualifying, but Poli... she did not qualify last time with a great song - she may fail this time again.

Yes, they don't know that Michal has huge amount of teenage followers who have no clue about music contest and Poland is full of trolls who think that if you have controversial look you automatically are successful Eurovision participant.

Because Poli is an outstanding artists and unlike Szpak has good songs. If people really appreciate the fact that this is a SONG contest then Poli will definitely qualify over this Polish 'masterpiece'.

Well, they were good at predicting who will be in Top 10 in last few years. The only surprising flop I can think of right now was Israel 2014.

So if you hade a favourite, let's say Jonh Smith, but bookies said he'd be last in the semi, would you say the same or would you support him anyway?
