Agree with you on a 100%! I've gotta say it's quite unfair it won. It had the advantage of beeing pot-3's fanwank thanks to it being sung and played by its owner, and also because it was dedicated to NSC which the mentioned group is obsessed with. The only worse winner in a while is the one is, ironically, the one that beat me to 2nd (thought that it was the worst song of the whole final, this was only bottom 3/4).

I don't care whether it's NSC-dedicated or not, I didn't like it. And neither did many others. I do take the fact into account that writing a song and performing it all by yourself takes some skill and courage, but that still doesn't change the fact that it wasn't my cup of tea. Plus, I didn't treat is as "a NSC participant's song dedicated to NSC" but as a regular song like all the others, and because of that I used the same factors when making my judgment as for all other songs in this final.

TBH now: Ugaly had a bonus by me because it was dedicated to NSC and because it was sung by the owner... and i dont see a problem with that. The connection to NSC is what makes the lyrics great.... if the song had other really great lyrics it would have the same effect on me.
but all in all, Ugaly would also became 5 points (instead 7) for just the song with mediocre lyrics and a random other singer (if i like the voice), its a good song!

Uhm, Tír an Abhainn came 21st in the semi with a self-made song dedicated to NSC...
Ugaly's song had a fantastic melody, it was catchy and the lyrics were beyond epic. I was addicted to it during this edition as a *song* itself. At least that's my personal opinion. And luckily everyone is entitled to one.

And about the winner, I wouldn't vote for it if it was just a song dedicated to NSC, if the melody and the lyrics weren't nice. I found it very nice as a song, that's why I voted for it. Perhaps it wasn't a professional production like the over-polished songs that you listen to the radio from singers who can't put two notes together and make a simple melody themselves and fully autotuned, but it was honest and solid without trying hard to sound like a hit.

Just glad I don't have to eat any more of my Kylie CDs - after the WL results fiasco, I'm down to a mere 96 in my collection!!
I agree - while the sentiment behind the song was great, I voted for Ugaly's song because the melody and lyrics got insanely stuck in my brain (I adore the line about the scoring board - it just sounds so awesome!!) But of course, everyone's entitles to their opinion - we can't have everyone in NSC liking everything. More anarchy and disagreements please!!
