Ranko, take all the time in the world that you need to study. Shame that today didn't work out for you. See you Saturday, and good luck on exams! ^.^

Also, winning doesn't come easy and you get the opportunity to host as an reward, so it's a rear thing, and most people like to experience it regardless of outside factors. While I agree that the schedul of the host is important to some extent, i would remind you all that hosting is totally optional activity and if doing it properly doesnt fit in your schedul - it might be wise to consider leaving hosting to someone else.

Reignland gave 4 and 6 pts to the same country.
I don't remember NSC being controlled by political superpowers, being forced to render an extensive schedule under tight supervision or respecting its deadlines otherwise people will explode and die. It isn't the Eurovision.
''Because he had to study'' is a pretty damn good reason to extend the deadline to 14 days or, why not, until the end of his PhD! I'm sure you will find plenty of activities with your family and friends to compensate for the painful 3 more days you have to wait now.
NSC Wiki said:2. The host has to follow the rules for the NSC and cannot change or alter them without consulting a Mod. However, exceptional circumstances may occur. The host has the right to make the final decision if a Mod is not available.
This is the best post I've seen in four pages.
I think people should stop giving Ranko a hard time. I don't think it should be a huge deal if the voting period was 5.5 days. We've had six day deadlines in the past and I don't remember people complaining. The rules state that yes, although a mod should be consulted when deadlines change, it is ultimately the host's decision. Conversely, if he thought a 10 day period was needed, so be it. Guy is right, it's not Eurovision; it's a silly online music contest that I use personally just to broaden my music library and meet new people. I really don't see why people are taking it more seriously than that, because it's honestly nothing more than that. Am I right?
