Final show: Saturday afternoon.

Now excuse me, I have to study.

Ranko, take all the time in the world that you need to study. Shame that today didn't work out for you. See you Saturday, and good luck on exams! ^.^

While I agree that the schedul of the host is important to some extent, i would remind you all that hosting is totally optional activity and if doing it properly doesnt fit in your schedul - it might be wise to consider leaving hosting to someone else.
Also, winning doesn't come easy and you get the opportunity to host as an reward, so it's a rear thing, and most people like to experience it regardless of outside factors.

anyway, looking forward to the show on Saturday even though I'm not in the final :)

While we're waiting Saturday, here're some interesting facts

13 countries have more than 110 points each. Difference between 1st and 8th place is 20 points.

Drama about this! You're destroying organization of akka, you can see he's trying that everything be perfect, it was, until this crap. Chill out, I personaly think that 5,5 days are enough to vote!

What a case of egoism, just because one person could not make a 7 day deadline and did a 5.5 day deadline because he had to study, other persons like me had to squeeze everything in to vote in time for the deadline. If a host is not fully available for the period of the hosting just decline and not create a hassle to the participants.

What I was saying is that you could have consulted with us, as everyone has school, study and private life which come before nsc :)

I don't remember NSC being controlled by political superpowers, being forced to render an extensive schedule under tight supervision or respecting its deadlines otherwise people will explode and die. It isn't the Eurovision.

''Because he had to study'' is a pretty damn good reason to extend the deadline to 14 days or, why not, until the end of his PhD! I'm sure you will find plenty of activities with your family and friends to compensate for the painful 3 more days you have to wait now.

This is the best post I've seen in four pages.

I think people should stop giving Ranko a hard time. I don't think it should be a huge deal if the voting period was 5.5 days. We've had six day deadlines in the past and I don't remember people complaining. The rules state that yes, although a mod should be consulted when deadlines change, it is ultimately the host's decision. Conversely, if he thought a 10 day period was needed, so be it. Guy is right, it's not Eurovision; it's a silly online music contest that I use personally just to broaden my music library and meet new people. I really don't see why people are taking it more seriously than that, because it's honestly nothing more than that. Am I right?

NSC Wiki said:
2. The host has to follow the rules for the NSC and cannot change or alter them without consulting a Mod. However, exceptional circumstances may occur. The host has the right to make the final decision if a Mod is not available.

Now, although I KNOW there is a rule stating that the deadlines must be at least a week "under any circumstances", this is an "exceptional circumstance." This rule must be looked at, because I know for a fact that the deadline has been cut short.

FOR EXAMPLE: NSC 58. The semi-final results show was on 03 October, a Sunday, and the voting deadline for the final was 09 October, six days later. Say what you will about 'geography' playing a factor (as Liam did the majority of the hosting), but IMO school plays a much more important factor when determining when a show will be. (Liam, this is nothing against you, I'm just using you as an example :D)
