Ok, I might get hated for saying this, but idc. I really don't get what people see in "Honestly".
No offense, but isn’t it kinda popular to dislike Honestly on this Forum?

I guess it is, I am on different eurovision forums and forgot this one was kind of on my side in this matter. I cannot count the number of times I argued with Ulrikke fanboys on other websites...

The bookmakers' current ranking of the songs in the final, with my personal views added:

1Ulrikke Brandstorp - Honestly
(It will be delivered splendidly in the final, and even though the song is a bit too anthemic for me - and a little slow -, it is my current top favourite because of all the surprise exits in the semis.)
2Alessandra Mele - Queen of Kings
(A noisy song - it's "Run To The Hills" on steorides.)
3Jone - Ekko Inni Meg
(There is elements in it that I like, but I'll never be the biggest fan of a song when it's performed by somebody who can't sing.)
4Elsie Bay - Love You in a Dream
(She uses the modern style of singing with loads of artificial diphthongs, and yet the chorus is very old-fashioned - I feel about this one like I felt about most of Victoria's songs: impressed by the artistic quality, but not drawn into it. Still, since the closest rivals have failed, the song is my current number two.)
5Eline Thorp - Not Meant to Be
(It has some nice pop elements, but it doesn't make it over the finish line, in part because Eline's voice is rather uninteresting, and her stage presence isn't that impressive either.)
6Atle Pettersen - Masterpiece
(While he does well on stage, the melody is a bit too anonymous for my liking.)
7Skrellex - Love Again
(This song is "Drama Queen" plus a few improvements. It's too classic Eurovision, and I'm so sad that this song went through at the cost of much better entries.)
8Swing'it - Prohibition
(The band is good, and the singer is good. But the melody would have to be interesting if the song was to catch my attention, and it just isn't - the song is one of those genre things that I don't really like.)
9Umami Tsunami - Geronimo
(It's okay that the song is rather generic, but North Kid's boy band entry was a hundred times better.)

All of a sudden, the Melodi Grand Prix final of 2022 looks a lot stronger than this year's final.

If Ulrikke wins she will do an Anja Nissen and be one of the last in her semifinal (with only televote)
I also see her as a possible NQ, but she could also possibly do well. I find her hard to predict. I would say it comes down to her competition in the semi, which at this point could go either way. I guess the closest we could compare her to from last year would be Amanda Tenfjord, which is far from a televote favorite but would indeed have qualified in the semi with the televote, so it’s depending on the semi competition, and in the final she would certainly do quite well with the juries. But yes, attention would have done better either way.

Subwoolfer was great.

I'm close to that top 10. But it feels like a 2nd division selection, and the Norwegian ESC winner potential has dropped considerably.

None of the eliminated Songs would have won ESC.
I think a Top10 is still possible for Norway.
Ulrikke will be between 8-15 if she wins I would say.

So ... I will stick to Alessandra. She has the best song and performance for me personally. I think she would have better chances to survive the semi than Ulrikke, but I guess that Ulrikke is going to win this ... still hoping for a surprise though! ;)

I'm rooting for "Queen of Kings". That intro is just amazing. I can see her doing very well at Eurovision. Ulrikke's song is cute but I think that there is a high chance that Norway will NQ with her. It isn't a song that I would listen to a second time. The performance is okay.

I didnt really like anything in semi 3 so i dont really care about the result tbh, my biggest disappointment though was stig van eijk. I actually liked the song and expected a very light and honest Performance and this wasnt anything like that. His vocals were too forced and aggressive and the dancing was out of place imo, nothing there did the song any Favor

And i think norway should send queen of kings, i didnt really like it in the beginning but it has grown on me and is super catchy and she delivers is great. Could be a televoting fave imo.
Honestly is ok, but it doesnt have the impact attention had imo and it sounds forced and fabricated and the whole visual seems very dated (and makes her look older than she is. A bit eurovision-painting-by-numbers)

O Freya... :( One of those cases where a stronger performer / vocalist like Ulrikke could have done magic, that song has a lot of potential. But Marie's voice sadly couldn't live up to the task.

No it wasn't for Tiril obviously... :(

But Im so glad horrible "Freya" is out.. Im tired of plastic nordic stuff alla Keiino from Norway and MGP...

I rank in the final now:

1. Elsie Bay - "Love you in a dream" 10/10 - unfortunatelly not for 10 because of vocal instability, but as it is a weak final for me generally, I have to be a bit less harsh :p

2. Eline Thorp - "Not Meant to Be" 8/10

3. Swing'it - "Prohibition" 8/10

4. Umami Tsunami — Geronimo 4/10

5. Skrellex - "Love Again" 4/10

6. Jone - "Ekko inni meg" 3/10

7. Alessandra Mele — Queen of Kings 2/10

8. Atle Pettersen - "Masterpiece" 2/10

9. Ulrikke — Honestly 0/10 - not for 0, but I JUST CAN'T, DUUUH... 😜

I feel like she'll win though... but Norway should remember that the corrupt grandmas (= juries) are no longer involved in the semis so sending jury bait isn't maybe the best way to go.
Yes, hence Tix and Subwolfer recently

I love Tiril's song. It's by far the best option Norway has and I don't even think it'll qualify tonight.

I hate Norway at eurovision I really do.
Same..

Me too until I learned she's the only entry from the North :| which might rain votes on her
This is major factor. They are extremely chauvinistic and is what sent her through I'm sure.

The ugly: Norway will fall for the story and pick Ulrikke and flop xdiabloxdiabloxdiablo
Entirely possible. What seems to matter is celebrity status and she got that. Atle Pettersen too.

Norway, you can't screw this up. xcheer
Wait for it..

Tiril was a little out of breathe at times, but nothing serious. She looked stunning, so it's really a mystery how the drag queen and the primitive pop song by Thorp could beat it.
I thought she held it together remarkably well. All the details and inflection was there. I was quite taken with it.
And i think norway should send queen of kings, i didnt really like it in the beginning but it has grown on me and is super catchy and she delivers is great. Could be a televoting fave imo.
My thinking too.

I really don't get my countrymen voting. Before they would take the most boring and safe ballad over anything, now with Tix and Subwolfer last years it's 180 the other way and seems the more crazy the better. Following this trend Skrellex will win it since it's the same international 'jury' as well. If not, the celebrity factor will also kick in and see Ulrikke and Atle Petterson up there, but who knows.

Yeah I think this is right on the money. Lower top 10 is my guess for her ultimate placement, if she were to win MGP.

Alessandra or Atle would qualify and do worse. Salami Tatami are NQ'ing. None of the others are winning MGP, I'd think.
