Okay so. The whole package is close to Spirit in The Sky, in terms of structure and composition (for instance, some joik parts and Alexandra carrying most of the vocals), but it's different enough to make a direct comparison.
Overall, it doesn't bring anything new, the ethnic influence isn't present enough (in 2019 I already wished they went farther with it), but I played it quite a few times on repeat already. It's not a song that instantly screams high points from me but I know I would never skip it.

Ok KEiiNO delivered! I'm happy they didn't come back Rybak-style with a much lower quality effort and actually worked to present a sequel to "Spirit in the Sky". I was really preparing t be disappointed but it's a bop.

I think KEiiNO have high chances of winning MGP and that this is one of their better songs since SitS, if not the best. But there's no way juries go for it in Rotterdam. Yes, Monument showcases Alexandra's vocals better with that high note, but the overall package is just way too eurovision-fun. So, it's another 2019 result at best (which would still be brilliant for most of us of course

Keiino’s “Monument” is great, but it doesn’t have the dramatic progression that “Spirit in The Sky” had.

Alright....hold on a minute here...
I have been one of those that haven't understood KEiiNO at all. I have found them ridiculous, as a bad joke, who won the televote with an extremly old-fashioned song. I have always find Alexandra Rotan as a pretty decent singer, but the others I have never understood why they where there, especially Fred, since he is among the worst jojkers I have ever heard...
But this song...damn I am pretty gobsmacked by it. It is actually really good. I am glad that most of the jojking is hidden away in the background and that Fred got to rap in sami instead, which works actually really well if you ask me. Alexandra sings the song beautifully and the whole atmosphere is actually really pretty and powerful, very traditional schlager and norwegian folk, but also quite modern, at least compared to "Spirit In The Sky".
So yeah....I never thought I would but....if this works live then...then I could stand behind it. So go for it Norway, this will probably do extremly well in Rotterdam...

Of course it's the same formula as Spirit in the Sky, but that's obviously their style. You wouldn't reproach the BeeGees doing disco or Bon Jovi doing solid Rock. So I don't want to go into comparisons though I can understand why people may be reminded of the case of Fuego and Replay.
I pretty much like the entry of Keiino. It's catchy, it's fun, and it's uplifting. In times present I need this time of music to keep me going. I've nothing against ballads, but I hope we'll have less of them this year. Or at least less depressive ones.
As for TIX: another beautiful entry. Hymnic, a bit old-fashioned, but that's ok. Really looking forward to MGP this year!

I like it, but not as much as Spirit first impression-wise. The last chorus doesn't sound as impactful after the really cool bridge. Very anthemic sounding.
It could win MGP, but I wouldn't be surprised if it falls short because of a televote bait entry (eyes on Rein). As for ESC, I don't know if it can reach the same televote success from 2019.

Spirit in the sky was more impactful and dramatic, but I actually really like Monument way more. Yes, the songs do have similiarities, but I still wouldn't say it's Spirit in the sky Part 2. I really really like it! The song gives you goosebumps! Wouldn't mind at all winning it!
