I Can't Escape is the first song we've heard in three weeks that feels like it could contend for the MGP win. An unconventional look, an emotional but relatable ballad, and - come on - that ethnic bit at the end leading into the showstopping Big Note? Ticks all the boxes in terms of what Norway like in their Eurovision songs.
The farm song is irritating but at least we might get cow and chicken suits on the backing dancers which is always a good time. Country pop is DEAD as a Eurovision fad so I think River are struggling, as is Ane Fin.
I HOPE Big Daddy Karsten gets the wildcard but I've got a feeling it's going to Vi er Norge.

This heat is so and so. Imerika is okay, but I prefer actually River over her. I usually am absolutely not the country pop type, but I can warm up to this song. But I don't feel any winner vibes from this heat.

Imerika is seriously so good, I want it to win... if this was performed by someone famous it would've win easily, so hope Norwegians don't vote for fame, but for quality and talent. Hero by Raylee is my 2nd now, with Imerika being the 1st.

1. RIVER - Coming Home 8/10
I love country music so much but generally hate country pop. I can however swallow this one rather nicely. It's not doing anything extraordinary but it feels sincere, and it's packing a charming little chorus. I can imagine Wiktoria singing it.
2. Ane Fin - Walking in Sleep 8/10
Oh this one's crunchy and has got a real nice groove going on. I'm quite digging this. Giving me 90s Brandy vibes.
3. TuVeia-Bli med meg på gar’n 6/10
Sounds like the theme song for a long lost Nintendo 64 game involving chickens. It's actually kind of amusing. I've got no urge to listen to it again right now but these boys will probably give us an entertaining performance at least.
4. IMERIKA - I Can’t Escape 5/10
Composition is nice enough and there's a journey to go on with it. I like the folksy bit towards the end. Good lord though, those vocals. They make my toes curl. Why do people choose to sing like this? One of life's greatest mysteries. The 5/10 I've given for I Can't Escape is the greatest display of kindness you will ever see from me, seeing as the vocal stylings here subject my sensitive, tinnitus riddled ears to a near unlistenable three minutes.
Overall a nice selection from Norway this year

TuVeia's song makes me wanna dance.
It also reminds me of this:
It finished 4th, so it was more popular among fans.
I can picture the barnyard style staging for TuVeia.
This actually a pretty decent heat, of course that Imerika girl will win as apparently she's hyped already so watching this heat is practically a waste of time, but still here is my top:
1. TuVeia - "Bli med meg på gar'n"
2. River - "Coming Home"
3. Imerika - "I Can't Escape"
4. Ane.Fin - "Walking In My Sleep"
Did not expect to like TuVeia, but I did (it's the damn violin for sure). "I Can't Escape" does nothing for me and after one minute I'm already bored of it, it's basically your middle of the world nordic girl doing a pop ballad. Snore. At least the last minute gets better, maybe the live performance will be a game changer.

I'm thinking Psycho and Faith Bloody Faith are more likely compared to Elevate (unless there's major improvement)

Give all songs 2 listens, here are my ranking and impressions of the songs:
1. Imerika - "I Can't Escape": This sounds promising. But it doesn't have the wow factor for me. Let's see if she can elevate the song 'live. She actually sounds like Dotter at the beginning.
2. TuVeia - "Bli med meg på gar'n": I don't know what they are singing about, but if you remove the chicken clucking sounds, the instrumentals are actually not bad and can actually pass off as an ordinary song instead of a "joke" entry. It's interesting for sure, I am actually looking forward to the performance. I don't know why but it gives me Iceland 2020 vibes.
3. River - "Coming Home": A normal country-influenced track. Nothing outstanding.
4. Ane.Fin - "Walking In My Sleep": It's actually not bad, sounds something Robyn has released in the 90s. But it isn't impactful.
Overall, while collectively a stronger batch than Semi-Final 4 but I do not have a favourite song in Semi-Final 5. I don't find myself drawing to a particular song.

Still I cant see any real competition to Keiino in the final...
But I still have high hopes for the last song - Rein Alexander is a great singer, and Mørland a great composer.

Another underwhelming heat.
Imerika will be overrated, of course, because the song is similar to so many other big emotional hits. It does nothing for me.
Coming home is very pleasant. Not a winner or anything but my favorite from this heat.
I give TuVeia credit for adding the comedic factor. I enjoyed listening to it, even though it will irritate many.
