Re: NORWAY 2019

There is no way that Norway should be last on anyone's list, even if it isn't really your thing. Some of the utter rubbish that has been chosen this year is nowhere near the same league as this song. Montenegro for example? Or Latvia?

You using Latvia as a negative example already pretty much makes your point moot.

poor mrm, imagine flying to Tel Aviv and seeing your least favourite act win Eurovision :(

I pray you aren't scammed by Romanian taxi drivers along the way :'(

I really don't care LOL,

I can't wait to see Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in general..

I was in Malmo and I hated Emelie de Forest but I had FANTASTIC time! :D

Latvia 2019 features very good live vocals, I'm not a fan of composition..

With this Keiino we are in the dark ages of ESC, beginning of 00'...this is only for ESC bubble, outside ESC this is a huge SHITE.. :(

I liked the direction ESC is going in previous years but with this..hmm..

But still there are good entries..

Nah, I like this place. I like the people here, you included. You really aren't relevant until I've shaded you at least twice a day ^__^

I can tell you: I am indeed one of the oldest here in this forum!

Bless you. You and your geriatric mind are two of the best things about this forum. xrose.

I think this itself is fabulous and in a Eurovision context it’s a nearly perfect entry. I will say though that I think this fan hype won’t equal what the televoters think I’m afraid. A Eurovision winner today is either modern in some way or flirts with music 60+ years ago, this entry does neither. I could see it reaching top 10/5 at best. I could be wrong! In my opinion it gets a strong 10.

Re: NORWAY 2019

I'm glad this won over that other song it was up against (that was a huge no). Always nice to see friends here happy too. I fear though that any goodwill I might have towards this entry will come from a similar place as it did for me with Finland last year, which was basically having not much better available to give my attention to. My initial reaction to both songs was similar. A sort of "I'm not into this but I guess it's catchy at least" feeling. The fact I don't hate Spirit In The Sky is actually quite miraculous, as it's doing a lot to bother me. I dislike tacked on ethno parts, and the vocal styles of each member are not my thing at all. Actually the chanting guys voice bothers me the least, and that's saying something.

The performance tonight really didn't help me to warm to the song. I found it kind of bland, and I guess that's always the problem I've had with Spirit In The Sky. It's doing a lot to make very specific people happy, but I've never really connected with the song or the singers. If you're going this cheesy, at least go all out with the performance. I mean you've got someone on the song who sounds like a frog for goodness sake. Have more fun with it. If your song is this silly then you've got to go ape with the staging.

I don't know what to give it in the poll. Before tonight I was thinking probably a 6, but the performance dragged things back a bit. Still, better than most songs picked so far this year. Parts of it are super infectious. I get why people like it. The chorus synths are tasty.

Re: NORWAY 2019

Spiwit in the sky is straight up excellent, but I actually enjoyed D-sound AS much if not more. WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST DO EESTI LAUL??? (Like, nobody needs Marko Kaar) They would have WON it and Estonia's legacy as a top 3 Eurovision country would not have been tarnished.

Re: NORWAY 2019

I am very content that Spirit in the Sky won, being my favourite from the start. Even so I think the only one of the three that had really good vocals was Tom Hugo, I expected better from both Alexandra and Fred. The staging could sure be better though - and I am sure it will be in Tel Aviv.
I also loved Mørland's performance, actually the best of the night. I love the feeling his song gives me, and I liked the dancers and the performance.
D'Sound? I really dont know what the international juries did see in this one. The song might be fine (although not my cup of tea) but the performance killed it for me.

Don't think this is going do well at all Eurovision, despite it's assured fanwank status.

7 points because I still enjoy the studio version.

What a relief the format is the way it is, or if the selection method were the same as Romania or Italy we could’ve easily had NQ flops in D’Sound or Adrian. So happy with this result. Sorry to say though, I was a little underwhelmed with KEiiNO’s staging and performance but probably due in part to high expectations. Alexandra was absolutely effervescent and truely sold it, but as likable as she and indeed all three of them are, Fred really needs to improve his vocals by May because the joik solo is a rather obvious ripple in what ought to be the strongest part of the song.

I also think they really ought to borrow some ideas from some other acts from tonight which were simply superior, like Mørland’s warm lighting effect with the fog which would have been a perfect way to open the song, or the strobe lighting in Ingrid’s song that could have been used to give rise to the chorus somewhat. I get why they went for something more sophisticated than gimmicky but overall it needs to be more dynamic with the concept in terms of colours and costumes to give that wow factor. The dancers add no value and they could have at least been wearing traditional costumes. I would’ve put Fred in a kolt and had him singing at the back with some drummers, rather than up front with the other two. With a song that lends itself to the Eurovision stage so easily, at least they have a lot of options to work with.

I dont think it will do that bad, though. Keiino will sure be a fan-favourite, but less of a favourite amongst the general televoters. And definitely not a jury favourite. So where will that lead them? No doubt to the final, and to the left side of the scoreboard. Before hearing the rest of the 2019 songs I wont make any further predictions.

Non-shock non-qualifier for me.

Lazy Eurovision by the book effort. One of the bleakest winner this season.

Final? Maybe. Left-hand side? Doubt it. Juries will eat this for breakfast.
