A beautiful, raw, sincere performance from Carl as expected. I love him so much. When it comes to interpretation, he and Valentina are in a different league to everyone else. Just such brutally honest, chilling yet beautiful vocals. He really was magnificent tonight..

But there are problems. There is something about the performance that doesn't sit right with me. He doesn't need all this unnecessary kitsch behind him. For such a sophisticated song, he should be there alone on stage, perhaps in the dark. I'm unsure that this can win anymore, it would certainly be a very pleasant surprise if he were to. I'll be voting for him again in the final.

Once i must agree with you Mrs RainyWoods, those violins really doesn't belong there......... however they would fit much better in next to Ralph Sigel when he plays the piano.... to maybe

This was the only performance which gave me goosebumps last night :) I don't understand how some people can feel nothing while watching/listening to it. Unfortunately, that draw has probably killed all its chances for winning. Top 10 should be still possible though :)

Ok, well 5 isn't the ideal position but I'm hoping for a top 5 result for Carl xheart

I don´t know why, but this song gives me nothing. Normally I like such songs, but also yesterday I tried to feel the spirit of this song, but I didn´t find any. But I´m sure, this song will do well tomorrow.

His eyes looked like he only just got out of bed, if you can't connect to the audience with your eyes and you have such a mellow ballad then it won't work imo.

A Greek jury member implied that Austria, Norway and Poland were their favourites.
About Norway she said that it's a very emotional ballad and one of the best ones this year :)

I'm not a huge fan of the song, but Carl's performance last night was spine-tingling.

Indeed Mistress Cassio, for once we can both agree on something. It's a shame really as I thought that Carl was in with a very good shot of winning. The performance was still stunning. I watched it again just now with headphones on and his voice gave me shivers all over. Visually it was all too much though.

And no thank you, I don't want Valentina to have his violinists. Keeping her performance simple this year was the key to her success.

Those violinists didn't need to be on that MGP-esque podium, just standing on the stage is enough :)

5. Norway
Matt: To me vocally his best performance. He's definitely more confident and I enjoyed it much. Just wow, goosebumps!!
Ahmet: His performance was very solid but he's always good. I liked his energy onstage, the audience felt he was more confident.

we walked around the Press Center and asked two dozen people and here and the vast majority said that The Netherlands had the best rehearsal. After that, Greece, Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom received about the same amount of votes.
On the other hand, most people said Armenia had the weakest rehearsal followed by Germany.
