Raab used to poke fun at almost every European country xshrug I wasn't surprised when he was negative about her.
Also, the man who said in front of Ruslana that Eurovision would be better without Eastern Europe is going to host ESC  You can already guess German broadcaster's points to Norway. Unless the jury will have enough brains in order to have their own opinion.
He will be the host so Stella can kick his butt in person

Hahaha, If she does super well, or wins, it will be a super slap in his face

@Aleks, For a host of a show that's supposed to unite Europe, I was expecting him to be a little bit more accepting of different cultures... or act more professionally towards other music professionals AT THE LEAST. I don't know him much, but he sounds like a Terry Wogan to me  (sorry for going off topic)

I still remember when Raab asked Peter Nalitch " Is that Milan Stankovic on the photo you are holding and singing about?"

I couldn't make up my mind about this song after the first listen but after reading all those disgusting comments I fully support it out of principle. I know Eurovision isn't supposed to be political but ain't it great how an inoccent song like this can prove that Europe is changing and that some countries are mature enough to see that and chose an song/artist like Stella to represent them?
Sorry for going off-topic. I hope Haba Haba will do well.

But what means "Haba Haba..." is it spanish?

You know... what Raab says... thats Raab! Take it with a pinch of salt ;-)

Because she's from Kenya, I thought it was Swahili. I found this with google:

Haba na haba, hujaza kibaba.

Little by little, fills the pot.

As this Swahili proverb says, all things are possible if you just take it little by little, step by step.

And I also love the song! My favourite until now!

lol I don't think it sounds spanish at all, but it's definitely not Spanish anyway it is Swahili like maryanny said :)

Loving this song more and more and loving Stella too, it's fast becoming my favourite!

Gosh It is many songs still to go..but I wonder if not Norway will go away with possibly a place in the top 5 (even be best placed nordic act). Stella is wonderful artist, so sweet and the song is so happy that you can't help yourself from singing along while smiling and dancing to this wonderful entry!
I start to think we must watch out for this sweet little girl with this innocent african song! ;)

Great! I really like the song. I think the singer needs to do a lot of rehearsing to improve her vocal performance, but it has a lovely, happy feeling to it. African-influences in Eurovision don't have a very good record of performing well, which is a shame. I wish Norway and Stella very good luck. I've been humming this now for most of the evening.

This story is completely false and fabricated. Raab never said anything about "bongo bongo music" or the Norwegian song at all really. He did make some cheap word association joke. Asked about Haba Haba he said: "If the Italians particiate with Bunga Bunga (not bongo bongo!), we can pack up and go home." (see Bunga bunga)

If you don't believe me, you can watch it and hear for yourself here (at 2:45)

I never bothered reading that article but now I'm quite surprised by it. Stefan never said that. Was he poking fun at someof the entries? Yes, he's a comedian but he never said that the song from Norway is bongo bongo music. That's some unreliable article. So don't get too upset with him....at least not for that particular reason ;)

I like the 1st words of that article: Bunga bunga is a phrase of mock African origin.

Coming after Stella kinda says it all ;)
Nobody says that he's a racist. But he plays on national prejudices.
This is not the host broadcaster's position (after all Raab is disliked even in Germany) but it wasn't nice, not just imo xshrug

He did not "come after Stella". His 'joke' had no connection with her at all really, he only wanted to say bunga bunga, which became kind of a known phrase in Germany through the Berlusconi sex scandal, which he figured would get him a laugh. I doubt anyone in Germany even knows bunga bunga is of African origin, not Italian.

Thank you for putting that right!

It was just a lame wordplay-joke by Raab  (on the "Bunga-Bunga"-Phrase concerning Berlusconi; in fact nothing related to Stella nor Norway) - but I KNEW instantly that this could - again - cause some sort of unnessary irritations, misunderstandings- it' not the first time with Raab, as we know.

You can be sure, he would have been booed off the stage by the audience and slaughtered by the press and public the day after, if he'd really said something that dumb, pejorative, nasty, whatever.

I think, Norway is actually considered as one of the favourites for the win, so far ;)
