So apparently now the Greek parliament also accepted the name change to North Macedonia, what happens now? I mean it would just be odd if EBU sticks to the degrading FYROM from now on?, also I guess it's time to change the name of this thread as well?
Personally, I will continue use the official Swedish version: Macedonia, but it would be nice to at least hear something less offensive in ESC for a change.

Odd to me but ok, I guess I understand the change must go through some international bureaucracy and recognitions, however if it's already set I think EBU could show some "good-will"

Im not sure if they have the right to do it even if they wanted to! I don't think is that simple!

I am not sure, but can't EBU choose what they want to here if the name is recognized anyways? Who will give them the rights? UN? EU? EBU is its own entity in the end of the day, they chose their own rules who can enter the contest and on what premises so I don't see this as an obstacle, but yeah you might be right.

As much as I would personally not like to have the (FYR) on this forum thread, it's still the name of this country until the international community says otherwise. Just like the Czech Republic is still the Czech Republic.

Actually, when it comes to Czech Republic / Czechia, both names are formally recognized by most parts of the international community now it seems... EBU just choose to stick with the former though.
