i must say i don't quite get how this was the time macedonia qualified since i feel they macedonia-ed the staging of a good song like every single other time in the last billion years. i am guessing the juries came through for her and her performance? still super happy for her tho.
It was politics too with the name change mostly. "Dona" was a pretty good song for instance and Kaliopi is a lot more experienced and vocally stronger singer, yet she was murdered by the juries and in most cases she was placed last in the jury for a song that should have been very jury friendly too.
I think the jury pushed Tamara to get through. Now, I don't want to be misunderstood. I am happy for Tamara and she deserved to qualify based on that performance. She should have made it in 2008 with "Let me love you" too, as that was a lot better than this song. It would be an irony if Tamara was 10th and qualified by a point, where in 2008 she missed by 3 points.

Well deserved qualification. I adore this song from the start. Would've been such an injustice if she was left out. Tamara had the best vocal performance in semi 2.

Please call an ambulance, Stiven was found speechless, like Tamara and the rest of us.

I never would have imagined such a support from the juries. Wow! Congratulations for your new record! What a way to debut with your new international name. :D

When Tamara shot up in the ranks during the jury vote I couldn't believe my eyes and started to hope beyond hope, even with the mediocre song. The way she dropped out of the race at the end was a bit cruel, but she deserves every point she got. North Macedonia can be proud of her. xclap

Low televote was expected. Only ex-Yugo voted it seems. But she was like "why so little heeey, whatever, thank you all".

Latvia 2015 had similar response.

Congratulations North Macedonia !
Being that high in the jury voting, for a underdog, really means something..

What a night. Congratulations to North Macedonia! She was 15th with the betting odds and has easily surpassed those expectations. She did good with televote, yet absolutely did amazing with the juries. And rightfully so. You could see how thankful she was with her televote score. Her eyes didn't show any disappointment, even though that TV score implied she was no longer a contender for the win. Bringing your country back after six consecutive years of non-qualifiers is really quite a feat (which also means we will continue to keep the record of the longest streak of NQ, yay ). And how, by giving Macedonia the highest ranking ever since it entered the contest.

No, the composition of this song is not breaking any boundaries and at first sight it has a straightforward message. Her song has always been around my 5th place in my ranking, but that is going to change. The way she elevated this song, gave her utmost and rose above herself was absolutely magnificent, Tamara actually hit me most last night. While writing this post I was thinking about her performance, which brought me to tears, something even seeing my country and Duncan win the contest couldn't achieve. She isn't just a terrific singer (one of the best of the contest), but she is also great at conveying the emotions, you could feel how connected she was to the message of her song.

And thank you North Macedonians for the votes! North Macedonia gave 7 televote points to the Netherlands, which is more than any ex-Yugo country gave to Duncan. :D I am sure he is very proud too.

EMPOWERED QUEEN. IDK WHY THIS STAGING WORKED BECAUSE IT LOOKS DISJOINTED TO ME BUT IDC. SHE RAISED HER VOICE AND SAID IT LOUDLY. A GEM. THE PRIDE OF NORTH MACEDONIA. SHOULD HAVE WON JURY.

Her live performance tonight was exceptional imo. She did not steal the points she received, even though that massive jury support was indeed unexpected. And even without juries, she still would have qualified and ranked 12th, which shows that this effort was a success anyway.

Stiven If you can, please feel free to let us know what the reaction is like in your country. :) Your last qualification was in 2012, I assume this achievement must be all the more meaningful to you guys.

North Macedonia and its music have a special place in my heart. They weren't my first WorldVision country (hey, Esk fans looking for a PED cure! Come #JoinUs in WV!) just for shits; they produce the most delightful, homespun, soulful songs, and they treat their legends well. And thanks to tonight, Tamara has forever cemented her place among those legends. I'm so proud of what she was able to do. The performance tonight was so passionate, a perfect counterpoint to how poised she was in the semifinal. The start of a new journey to act as a complement to the end of what I see as a full decade plus of work. From the unexpectedly chilling "Let Me Love You" to her fun but ultimately disappointing backing work for her sister on "To The Sky" and fabulously classy balladry on "Tesko Bez Tebe" to her continuation of her maturation as an artist with one of the greatest national final robberies ever with "Brod Što Tone" and...now. Speaking of "Brod Što Tone," I've just recalled that that was the first national final I followed live on ESCUnited - my, what a journey that in and of itself has been! I'm so honored to have watched her grow as an artist and to have watched and loved North Macedonia. Much love and PRIDE to Tamara xheart

I was at a party with about 25-30 people and Tamara’s performance was the only one of all 26 where everyone was completely silent and glued to the tv. An incredible performance and a very well deserved result xheart

Congrats on great result :D

The performance really was smashing. Who knows, if the song itself had followed the quality of performance....

Still, great result, good effort.

Tamara's happiness last night during the jury votes I think eclipsed everything else for me. For all the grievances I have with the jury, they at least did right by Macedonia. I'm guessing she would have done even better had we been using the old voting system. Possibly the Suus result I first deemed the song capable of.

It's just such a beautiful composition paired with an incredibly special performer. I think my Brod Sto Tone the biggest NF robbery of all time claim now really has some weight to it, cause you know guys, she would have done what she did last night four years ago had she been given the chance. This is how to ballad it baby. Absolutely exquisite. Proud and Brod Sto Tone stand as two of the greatest compositions I've heard relating to this contest.

Congratulations on your best result ever and your best song ever (well, tied for me with Crno i belo and Samo Ti at least).

I feel proud that the jury of my country gave Tamara 12 in both the semi and the final. I was in shock. I paid them well back in 2016 and I payed them well again this yearxheart Actually the 2019 UK jury really were on something as they gave Croatia 8 in the semi and The Netherlands like a 2xheat
