I'm shocked as well.
"announcement on Montenegro's participation in Eurovision" sounds very dramatic.
I don't like the wording at all.

I fail to see why they couldn't simply say that they would announce how to determine Montenegro's entry/entrant tomorrow.

Truly sounds rather like a withdrawal. If so, I wouldn't understand that at all. Why not just let the second artist participate? Tomorrow we will have the answer ... I am waiting! Drama ...!

Things got a sudden turn in a dramatic way. There are still NF participants more than happy to take their shots. I don't get why withdrawing would be the preferred option while they have the world's time to choose an entry. Most other countries haven't even started the process yet.

Unless no other than Vladana was truly interested to bring Montenegro back, I fail to see why no one behind the scences would care about the contest anymore.

NeoneoN broke the rules (un)willingly by not reading them at all before submitting their entry. They withdrew.
It should be logical to ask the runner-up.

But who knows.. maybe RTCG did and we are facing a "Ukraine 2019" fiasco when neither the runner-up nor the 3rd place wanted to represent the country anymore but like @Judas mentioned, it's early December... they still got more than 3 months to come up with a different solution...

when neither the runner-up nor the 3rd place wanted to represent...
Runner-up was there just for promo, they had no money (the broadcaster didn't fund our representative back then). The 3rd place were so humiliated by their 3rd place (they had the most popular Ukrainian song of all times at the moment o_O) that they didn't want to dwell on it further. Not to mention she flopped vocally and was crushed by the judges and people's response. Like... you are in the top 100 best songs in the world, people expect equal level on Vidbir, you sing much worse live, you're not prepared emotionally and you expect the 1st place? Sis, bye (and it made her stronger in the future). But it's a different case for Montenegro.

I know for a fact that Nina wants to take part. It's not her fault that some other band f-ed up.
But in both cases it was broadcaster's fault. Maruv was ineligible since the beginning, Vidbir music producer covered her. The broadcasters' music departments didn't check shit in both cases.
Withdrawal, in Montenegrin case, would be super unfair and disrespectful against its viewers and performers. The broadcaster should have some courage to aknowledge their flop, act like adults and appoint #2 as the winner.

Ukrainian broadcaster funds (minimally, but it's better than nothing) our representative now, and all this mess is regulated by the rules. #2 obliges to take part or they pay a huge fine (which also prevents fillers people who don't intend to go to ESC from taking part.) Suspilne worked on its mistakes. We will see about RTCG.
On the other hand broadcasters aren't private investigators, it's up to public. So when such shit happens, it should be already written in the rules. Montesong "borrowed" 2 stagings from us, they could also copy certain things from our rules xgiggle like 2 Baltic states this season.

That's great news!
Yesterday's wording was quite dramatic... I'm glad Montenegro didn't withdraw and Nina is a good choice - she was the runner-up anyway and I'm glad she didn't decline the offer.

It's probably my favourite Montenegrin entry since "Adio".

I know it's hella early at this stage to say, but let me just hedge my bets immediately in case I need to be hating to say "I told you so" -

Nina is not going to qualify in Basel. Sorry.

Bookmark me to marvel at me being right if I am, or to laugh at me sounding like I was bitter as shit if I'm not. But it's no "Veronika" or "Ramonda". It just sounds drab and distressing. It doesn't need a revamp, it needs a massive overhaul at this point. Yes, there are less songs in semi than there were in 2022 - their last ESC, where they also sent a ballad - but ex-Yu support was the only thing holding "Breathe" up at this point. I don't see any difference this time round.

Honestly would've prefered them to send "Nova" at this point just for the lol. At least this campness is proof that "ESC Need More Fun" (- Justė Kraujelytė). But Nina came 2nd so she was the next in line, that was only fair to do. But it still doesn't help that "Dobrodošli" was my least fav of Montesong 😕

Tumblr, mostly.
Alright, we upgrade from a :4: to a :5:. Nina is great and throws everything into the live and that's precisely what saves it from being boring.

The SONG however is just kind of nothing rly oops.

Best of luck!

The band would have been more interesting, based on type of song. Nina's song is currently very old (and her way of singing is too). I expect some improvement at least for the musical base, a sort of revamp, without inserting the English language. For example, Tamara Sivkovic's song is also a ballad, but much more catchy.
