Montenegro MONTENEGRO 2016 - Highway - The Real Thing

The lighting scheme for this is super fun to look at. They have no chance of qualifying, and I'm undecided as to whether or not they deserve to, but it seems like they're going to put on a hell of a show before they exit.

I didn't like the Staging at all, didn't work for me. They did this "let's have as many camera cuts" as possible. The Female dancer/singer seems very random. Maybe she'll be wearing some fancy outfit next rehearsal that will explain her confusing presence Center Stage. It was so dark, you could barely see their faces. But that is what first rehearsals are there for, right?!? Now they'll get to fix some of these issues, at least that's what I'm hoping for. But I don't think that there is anything they can do at this point. It's one of the clear non-qualifiers, according to my lame-ass predictions.

This is a real mess and it is all over the place. It is not as bad as some people claim, but it isn't any good either. I actually value and give credit because....it sounds different and because the idea itself is great. In theory at least. However, when it comes to practice, it sounds like a rehearsal of some demo band in a garage. Also, I don't know why did they need to experiemnt with this heavy sound when it clearly doesn't suit them. Those screams are actually really disturbing and they sound as if someone was cutting their testicles. A definite non-qualifier.

Song is best thing of all act. Singing ok.

Scene performance is not good in my opinion. Too dark, camera moving too fast, and uncontrollable light beams moving all around, making rapid changes in light intensity from darkest to lightest.

The camera work has been gone above and beyond thus far this year, and Montenegro was the biggest beneficiary of it tonight. Amazing camera direction and use of lights. They realized they were underdogs and threw everything and the kitchen sink into that performance.

As someone who initially thought nothing of this song, I appreciate their effort here.
