I'm a fan of Ana Nikolic and her songs are either pop or pop-folk (Romale Romali and Vatra for instance). I guess the styles can sometimes overlap, since there is a similarity, but pop-folk/ethno-pop (I think even those two can be separated) and turbo-folk are different, even though they sound similar. :p

The choice is nice! A nice ballad might get Montenegro to the final, as he is a fine singer.

Sergej seems like a really nice choice. He is a serious artist, has a rather good voice - and he will be performing his own music. So he will probably not go out of his own musical style. That is normally a good thing - so I am hoping for a nice entry from Montenegro this year. And hopefully Montenegro will be performing in the final for once! They really do deserve it!
I heard through some of Sergejs material on youtube. The songs does not seem too generic. For me a pop-ballad can be utterly booring (and to be honest most of the pop-ballads of the ESC the last years have belonged to this category) - but some times I am surprised, and a regular pop-ballad can really touch me.

It's gonna be a ballad, written by Sergej himself! :D

Poor Montenegro...
You are in the Semi with the most countries (16),
without having ANY ex-yugo to vote for you  ,
and also being with 7 ex-ussr countries.
The only good thing, you are in the second half of the Semi...

Ex USSR countries love Montenegro's entries and San Marino's too
I am happy with the fact that they are in 1st semi
I can support them by voting

Denmark will vote in the first semifinal! My vote is already for :al: Albania no matter what, but if Montenegro and San Marino sends a good song, they'll also have my vote!

If the song's a winner it'll qualify from anywhere, just remember that ;)

The Montenegrin tradition of singing in the first semi-final continues...

I'm kinda worried for Montenegro since they look like they're at a disadvantage, but it depends on the song.

They have a better chance than ever this year. I loved Rambo and Who See but let's be real, more people will find Sergej appealing... especially in a year with barely any Balkan music

It's really pity for him Serbia doesn't participate, he is EXTREMELY popular here, I think he even lives here in Belgrade..

Tijana Dapcevic who will represent Macedonia this year lives in Belgrade 100%! She will also get HIGH points from us..but.. :? She is married to Montenegrin though..

I'm being really nitpicky here but the fact there's no space between the - and Sergej in the thread title gets right on my nerves

@ Sean

Maybe doesn't have in total. But if Serbia participates this year it will have a HUUUUGE impact on it's voting, we will give them 12 and 10 100000%! And that goes for all other EX Yugo countries, when famous names take part, they always get high points from all EX Yugo countries so that means smth.. ;)

The title has been edited and there is a space now between - and Sergej. I really hope everyone sleeps better from today :)
