Montenegro have really out-done themselves this year - this is a wonderful example of a Balkan ballad and I love it!!! They deserve a place in the final for this! :me: Hajdemo Crna Gora!!

Fantastic! Much better than I expected :D (and I expected a lot). It is true that it may not be original and sort of a copy of Zeljko's ESC songs, but tbh, I don't care. The music and the arrangements are just wonderful, the lyrics are also great and it has a great emotion as well xheart I love many songs from Sergej, but this may really be the best one he ever sang.

It would be an epic shame if :me: sticks out of the final yet again.

12 points.
We are so predictable sometimes.

finally a really good song from Montenegro. It wouldn't be the esc without a balkan-ballad

Underwhelming. I support Montenegro's passing to the final - if only because they've never qualified - but it won't be easy with this song. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, it just doesn't grab you from the first listen, which might be a problem. The one thing in its favor is that there won't be another song in the first semi similar to this one. Hopefully the jury votes for it despite its aversion to ethnic ballads.

I hope it stays in Montenegrin, the magic would be lost in English I feel.

Meh, other than Serbia 2012 (and Albania 2013?), what other ballads with Balkan elements have the juries supported?

I think we didn't have any

But they supported Serbia 2012, Slovenia 2011, Croatia 2012, Bosnia 2012 and Slovenia 2012 (more or less, but they all got better marks with the juries), which means almost every single ballad coming from this part of Europe got jury support

Well, I like the English version, but I'd rather he sing in Montenegrin language in the Eurovision.

Did Slovenia 2011 and Bosnia 2012 have ethnic elements though? I seem to remember them both being fairly 'generic' (I don't mean that as a bad thing, I LOVE Slovenia 2011), aside from latter being in Bosnian. Slovenia 2012 finished 14th with the juries, that kind of "support" won't help anyone. I suppose you're right about Croatia 2012. Though again, it wasn't a standard Balkan ballad, and it didn't do THAT well with the juries, but can't complain too much either.

Still, there are more examples of Balkan ballads going nowhere with juries than those that got support.

Anyway. All those examples did better with juries than televoting. Slovenia 2011 and Croatia 2012 actually did WAY better. Slovenia 2012, Croatia 2012, Bosnia 2012 and Croatia 2010 (I forgot about this) did slightly better, but still better. Serbia 2012 did amazingly well in both votings, but still better with juries.
That means 7 ex-yu ballads supported by the juries.

Only Croatia 2013 and Bosnia 2009 got worse results with the juries. And Bosnia 2009 is understandable because, even if this song was in my top-5, I reckon the performance was weak.

7-2.

Heard the English version. Though I prefer it, it's better for Sergej to sing it in his native language. He'll get more out of it.

The English version is awesome as well, although the native one is better. A complete emotion and meaning are felt in that version, so I hope he will stick to that one in Copenhagen as well. :me: also has quite a tradition of singing in a native language (only Andrea sang on English), so I hope they will keep it up.

This is pleasant enough I suppose. At moments I was expecting an iceberg to appear and the little sailing boat to crash into it. The song is overall quite wishy washy. I don't think it's something i'll be getting excited over sadly.

As I said before, I do LOVE this song. My only quibble about this entry is that I can't, for the life of me, remember how the song sounds like even after having just listened to it. And I've listened to this a good number of times, but it still hasn't stuck yet. So, if it's performed early in the night, there's less chance of me remembering it compared to other songs. Thus, for this song to do well, it has to be close to the end or the last song to be performed.

This can be a grower in this year´s ESC-season, but at the moment I give the song only 5 points. I don´t dislike it, but it´s also none of my favorites.
