Moldovan national broadcaster TRM will hold the country's national final on March 10th. As esctoday.com reported last week, the submissions period is already open and will remain so until January 16th.
Both national and foreign composers and musicians are encouraged to send in their entries to the Moldovan broadcaster at Chisinau, Miorita St. 1, Casa Radio until January 16th at 18:00 local time (17:00 CET), attaching. Registration documents can be found here.
A jury featuring several personalities from the music industry will then allow a number of acts to proceed to the phase of public hearings. The remaining artists will then perform their entries live in front of the jury, who will shortlist 20 finalists. The public will also have a say in this stage - three more finalists will be selected through internet voting, making 23 finalists battling to become the eighth Moldovan representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. Their names will be revealed on February 11th and the show will be held on March 10th.
Moldova was represented in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest by the band Zdob si Zdub, with the song So lucky, ending up on the 12th position in the final.
