Babe, are you hiding? Are you alright?
You look like an angel, that fell from the sky
And boy you keep talkin', massaging my ego
With your unoriginal pickup line

Hell no, I'm not your honey
Hell no, I don't want your money
Got it wrong, I ain't into dummies
No-o-o-o

So baby, it's not a maybe
Yeah, I'm too good to be true, but there's nothing in it for you
So if I show some skin, it doesn't mean I'm giving in
Not your baby

Je me casse, je me casse
If you don't get it (Je me casse)
Je me casse, je me casse
I'm not your baby

Boy, are you pouring that drink in my hand?
Thinking if I'm drunk then, I'll give you a chance
Boy, you keep buying and complaining so stop trying
Not gonna give it up and change my plans

Hell no, I'm not your honey
Hell no, I don't want your money
Got it wrong, I ain't into dummies
No-o-o-o

So baby, it's not a maybe
Yeah, I'm too good to be true, but there's nothing in it for you
So if I show some skin, it doesn't mean I'm giving in
Not your baby

Je me casse, je me casse
If you don't get it (Je me casse)
Je me casse (Je-je-je me casse)
If you don't...

Ladies, if you feel like flaunting tonight, it’s alright, it's alright
Ladies (Ladies), listen to me!
Listen and go right ahead, show you're shining

If you don't get it, if you, if you dont' get it (Je me casse)
If you don't get it, if you, if you don't get it
Excuse my French

Baby, it's not a maybe
Yeah, I'm too good to be true, but there's nothing in it for you
So if I show some skin, it doesn't mean I'm giving in
Not your baby

Je me casse
Je-je-je me casse
I'm not your baby

Thank you, I really missed that detail out. After the song shoot up in odds, this is the point where most opinions on the song turned positive "the song is good! it's gonna win! Destiny can bring the trophy to Malta!"

It was several weeks before the show that, unsurprisingly, some people started to voice back that this is not going to win, nor that it's going to succeed in the televoting.
You can compare the reviews of Malta and Azerbaijan on the forum, both were released the same day and Efendi had a way more positive reaction, more likes on youtube, more 12s in the forum poll etc. etc.

Just go to page 10 here, the reactions are very mixed until Malta takes #1 spot in the bookies and all bop lovers see it the main pop song with the chance to win and jump on the bandwagon.

So they really couldn't find four dancers in Malta and stage director do to that staging? Nobody in Malta could decide adding pink background and some explosions was a good idea, right? I mean...It was not, but it's really strange there were no personnel to do such a job in a whole country. I know it's a tiny country, but still.

Was Ira Losco really a favorite in 2016? I didn't follow the pre-season that year and I thought her placement was a surprise.

I remember they made wiwibloggs to react to the song before it was released, like this year.

And wiwi hyped it soooooo much!!! They were like "OMFG THIS IS WINNER MATERIAL THIS WILL BE A SMASHING HIT WOWOWOWO" almost as if they were paid to hype it on purpose. but the overall fan reaction was kinda #lackluster, maybe slightly more favorable than chameleon

700k and all they spent on Destiny includes a Dora wig, that pink dress/boots and the grey dress they rushed out of a Dutch store.

I actually hope someone in the delegation stole that money, I cannot believe they'd spend so much on hyping a song for a contest, that they'll probably need funds to host.

Ira Losco came 2nd hiring the Estonian choir with a bunch of glitter, and Chiara lifting one arm. No need for any special effect 😂

Exactly, and those are in the 100% televote years and also 100% Maltese song. Please, Malta, trust in yoself.

Speaking about corrupt governments, Israel must have spent an awful lot of money on Netta "support" back in 2018. Ads, ads everywhere on the internet. Worst winner in recent times.

They won, though.

Only lifting one arm? Someone is clearly forgetting the ICONIC moment when she dramatically grabbed the microphone off from the mic-stand and moves forward towards the audience shortly before the big climax! Not to mention her signature head movements, hand waving and wink (almost won in 1998 with that alone!). And all of it was free! I wonder how much they paid for the tacky hand flapping they made Destiny and co. do this year

Chiara performed 3rd out of 24 entries and still finished 2nd in a televoting only era (192 points!)! If "Je Me Casse" was truly that popular Destiny would have scored huge no matter where she performed in the running order.

Honestly, watching Destiny perform reminded me A LOT of Christina Aguilera. Huge voice and mega talent but also came across as having a strong arrogance and self-entitlement. I'm not just taking about her reaction to the jury scores but her actual performance. She just didn't come across as likeable and if people don't find you likeable they won't vote for you no matter how talented you are. I guess it's not her fault. People have been treating her as the second coming the moment she won JESC so its not surprising. The song definitely didn't help her case either.

They saw this year was wide open, and it was their best chance with everyone's golden girl Destiny, so they put all their usual tatics into hyper overdrive and in the end shot themselves in the foot.

It's even funnier because the reveal of their shadiness wasn't the result of some independent person blowing the whistle but by their own desperation. It was so obvious everyone could see
