I was told about this today, I had not read it before and don't know whether it has been posted before but its an article in a British 'newspaper' about Malta in Eurovision

It has its potential but I swear I always forget this song. Doesn't seem memorable at almost any level. 5 points because I kind of see what they were trying to aim to.

Not a fan of the new version at all. I really like the old one but this just takes away all the charm. Having to lower my points from 8 to 4

The beat sounds a bit more contrived, and I don't like the exclusion of the female backing vocals at the very start, but this is still enjoyable.
Everytime it gets to the chorus though, I'm still desperate to start singing "Fly hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh, let me go!!"
Take a listen to the below and you'll get what I mean:
I change my score and give it 12 points. Maybe it's not the best song but at least it makes me feel so good when I listen to it.
Btw, I like the new version as well (well done taking the woman's voice out in the first lines), but I think it has lost some of its strenght. Not a winner, but probably a finalist.

I honestly don't know what to make of the new version. It's like they've thrown everything but the kitchen sink into it. Perhaps they have gone a bit overboard? Are the synths lingering in the background really needed for instance? I do like the harmonica, wonderful instrument. Still a really nice song and I wish Malta well with it. I prefer "Cake to Bake" though.

I don't know if it is because the new version fixes some of the "dull" factor or because I've tried to hear it more times and I'm finally getting used to it, but I believe that update does its work. I'm changing my vote from 5 to 7, and maybe with a good performance, an 8 if they know what to do with this song.

I mostly like what they've done with the new version, but I'm pretty disappointed that they took out my favourite part (the extended long note with a different chord - it should be around 2:22). The synth bits before that sound a little odd too. Oh, and I don't like how they've added more vocals over the backing singers after that part, that worked pretty well as it was before...
