I feel the overall expectations were too high for a such a small country

At least the luxembourgish PR team did their job by hyping us all up in the beginning
But who's to say they don't have a hidden Gustaph on their hands?

Luxembourg is like 45% foreign nationals I'm not sure why people are surprised that there is plenty of foreign involvement in their nf
The 'foreigners' in Luxembourg are… local. The 'foreigners' involved in this selection are not. The thing is we have a really creative and pretty unique music scene here in Luxembourg because of the melting-pot that we are, but that doesn't show at all in the selection. The only 'locally bred' song is Edsun's - and yes, I personally don't like it, but there were lots of others that didn't go through because RTL deemed they weren't 'Eurovision enough'. Chaild's song with Maz, which got discarded by RTL's 'international jury' is a good example. Same with the local band Schëppe Siwen, which sang in Luxembourgish. Both of those would have been great contenders. Might not have qualified either, but at least they would have been representative and unique. I'm just really sad about (or pissed off with…) the lack of authenticity there is in this selection. RTL really messed it up.

I‘m glad that Joel is competing with a different song than we expected. It’s good but still has now wow moment though. It would be my choice out of those 8 songs. All in all it’s a decent enough first NF effort from :lu: but the final is not guaranteed with this song selection.

The song is fine, but it's pretty clear that he isn't very excited about the song – maybe because he got it last minute after it was tried out with other singers…

I'll be interested in seeing how the voting will play out though. As far as I can understand, there will be a new 'international jury'

PLUS televoting open up to everyone worldwide.

Welcome to the Eurovision fandom ♡

Unfortunately, we had such lack of authenticity in out German national finals for years. Scandinavians, Bulgarians, Austrians, Americans, British people writing for our artists even though we got the largest music industry on the continent.
It's a pity that broadcasters or international juries think that's the way to go. It's a different story if local acts and songwriters write with international ones/foreigners together... but now we just got fake Eurovision-tailored entries which weren't good enough to be chosen by the home countries of those writers and producers... they can still be genuinely enjoyable (and we got a few decent entries in this NF) but they are neither authentic nor personal or represent the melting pot that is Luxembourg and you had so many talented acts to choose from :( especially after so many acts applied...

Hopefully, more artists will follow and they (the broadcaster) will learn from their mistakes for 2025 (if Luxembourg doesn't withdraw).
I think that this utterly garbage mess will have a negative impact on Luxembourgish acts submitting their own material to RTL in the near future.
It's indeed a missed opportunity and kind of insult to Luxembourgish artists and talents - especially if the outcome is slightly above average.

According to a post (screenshot) in a Eurovision group, a Luxembourgish producer confirmed that artists sent their own songs and they were told that they would enter the next round but they "had to sing" the these new songs by foreign producers or leave.

This screenshot could be fake, of course but it's quite fishy... I'll post more Information on it if I find them

Feels like San Marino 1 in 360 style meddling. Another country that often lacks any local flavour. Although I've enjoyed some of their entries and to be fair some acts like Senhit were italian.

Also, a number of the Luxembourgish artists who were chosen in the first round travelled to work WITH songwriters abroad (who had asked to work with them) and co-wrote songs with them. This was of course a great opportunity and experience for them, and the result was authentic and 'personal' - but even those songs were ditched by the broadcaster to favour the Björkman-clique songs…

But yes, I've heard (from reliable sources) that Naomi, Tali, CHAiLD, Joel and Krick are all singing songs that they did not enter with and that were 'tested' with other singers first.
Not saying that the result is bad in all of the cases. But for someone like CHAiLD it was definitely a big mistake from the broadcaster, and I really feel for him.

Anyway, done is done… And yes, just hoping RTL will be less stupid next year.

Inviting Björkman was a huge mistake.
He was like "Sorry, my friend G:son. Your song isn't good enough and even too generic for Melodifestivalen. The broadcaster I work for found 30 songs which are better for Sweden...but wait.... there's a talented singer from Luxembourg and I was invited to choose the songs for that country. I will rank your song very high to make up for not choosing it for this year's Melodifestivalen".

Well this isn't a very strong comeback innit

The best choice would probably be "Paumée sur Terre" or "Fighter" but both aren't the dreamt-of comeback of :lu: tbh

I haven't dived into this selection all that much yet, but I think it's decent. A little Denmark-ish.

Surprise, surpise: Tali Eshkoli is one of the executive producers of 3 out of 8 songs. And Tali was in the jury!!!

Seriously guys.... that's absolutely shameful and embarrassing.
:lu: should cancel this NF as it is. It's ridiculous and outrageous.

I believe 'Paumée sur terre' would have a good chance of qualifying. It's certainly a better ballad than the ones from Norway, to name an example, and I also find it better than the French one. Of course, it remains to be seen if the girl can live up to the studio track when she enters the stage.

So the executive producer for almost all the songs if not all the song is this Israeli producer... How this implies the National Final is rigged? They can simply remove her from the jury and that's it...
