Ugh, the backdrop is so terrible...

That backdrop looks terrifying. Like a prison cell. Maybe it looks better on screen, but I somehow doubt it. They need to rethink that.

Wonder what Ukraine will bring on stage this time round!

First rehearsals are closed and no filming (other than EBU) is allowed. The following rehearsals will be in full length covered by various websites.

I never realised there was semi's. I remember watching parts of 2008 and going sick because Ireland was voting, yet wasn't on the scoreboard, then the same again in 2009. It wasn't until 2010 I realised there was semi finals.

I believe most people from the Big 5 have to make that painful realization once in their lives!

Many Germans don't even know about the whole thing yet. In the past, ARD did quite a good job hiding the semis' existence from the public Luckily, that got a bit better with Lena and the sudden general popularization of ESC in Germany.

I'm most excited to see the UK, Israel and Italy's rehearsals and stage layouts ... so far a little bit meh... was hoping for a little more from some countries
